Because Russia manipulates our countries in a bad way.
They buy our politicians through corruption in projects they offer us where the project eventually fails or where we pay too much.
They also pay politicians to be pro-Russia, they bought an entire party in Bulgaria some time ago. It was clear as day they were bought, because suddenly they went from run of the mill nationalists to Putinbots.
Russia also hates free trade and will ban goods from countries when you piss them off, when Russia pissed off EU the sanctions were against individual Russian richfags and the annexed territory, free trade was not affected otherwise.
Russia likes invading countries to create frozen conflicts (see moldova, ukraine and georgia).

In the west at least we know we are being influenced.
In Russia they follow their media blind, ive been watching some Russian media coverage about MH17 and its unbelievable, for the last year they have changed their official story several times, from Ukrain shooting it down with a fighter, Ukrain shooting it down with their own BUK to a bomb inside the plane.
And when the western research team shows what they found it, including detailed proof for EVERY claim they make, Russia, within the hour, wich is not even enough time to research all the proof, waves everything away as western propaganda. And the Russian people believe it blind and think it is all a western plot against them
