i've only been to minneapolis once, that being said, i don't believe they are very similar at all.

the loop might be similar to the business districts of minneapolis, but i'm pretty sure all business districts are similar in the US.

chicago is the most segregated city in the US. that's a good and bad thing, but if you don't have a car and live in a decent neighborhood, don't hang around bad areas at night you will be safe asf.

Miles of suburbs around Chicago so it varies. South of downtown is a pretty shitty area aside from nice museums and a university. North of the city seems to be pretty rich and nice though. If you go to the west of the city it's just a lot of suburbs and smaller cities until you're out in the "country". It's a rustbelt city but larger. Twin cities are nicer.
