How fucked am I?

Not too terribly depending on the time of day. Most of it is too abandoned to have significant crime, but I'd still be careful.

Cry and kiss the ground around me.

Considering you won't have been granted a permanent residency as soon as you woke up there, you're pretty much in the same position as you are now, since going to the US and staying there illegally isn't that hard anyway.

I, too, love to make fun of the Detroit situation. 15 years ago I worked for a Tier-1 automotive supplier (engineer) who wanted to move us to their tech center north of Detroit. I saw the writing on the wall, and took the severance package instead.
But I do have to say that Detroit seems to be getting their hands around the situation and moving forward with the reconstruction.
It could actually be a great place to live in 15 years ala Pittsbugh. (yes, Pittsburgh is a great place to live now, for the midwest).
Good luck Detroit.

I'd pretend to be mute and that i lost my memory.
Or just go to TV with the miracle I've been witness to.
Add also: see this. Detroit is cleaning their shit up!
This could be a great opportunity to buy soon. Again, Pittsburgh went through this in the early 90s.

This, I hope for the best with Detroit and other similar Rust Belt current shitholes.
Cross te border to México
I've always wanted to be in "el día de muertos"

Detroit is by the Canadian border, oddly enough.
