Generally speaking Russians are never seen as a serious threat, for example Polish parts of the Russian Empire were still much better developed than those inhabited by Russian majority. Another reason is that the last war with Russia we won was in 1919-21, while our last victory over a "German" state was in the 1st half of the 16th century, not counting two local anti-German uprisings after ww1 (in Silesia and Greater Poland).

There are many other objective factors why Germans are more dangerous, Poles live almost 10 years longer than Russians, but shorter than Germans, we have more Nobel prize winners per capita, but less than Germany, etc. etc. Generally speaking we have much better society than Russians, but we aren't better than Germans, excluding several factors like crime rates (50% lower than there), divorce and abortion rate and several other factors), while Germans are much richer and much more influential.

Though I get the feeling poles probably consider Germans more dangerous, should they really go bad again. Living under Russian domination for 40+ years mostly lead to oppression and poverty, while Germans literally worked to abolish them as an ethnicity the last time around.
