Anglo nations should have close bonds at all time.

Nah desu the Aussies have a pretty strong military for their size and are fully self sufficient, it would mainly be us and Canada leaching. Aus would add to it though.

The Canadian and Australian militaries are almost identical in term of strength.

Tbh that would just slowly lead to a US, when it was first made the Presidency was almost irrelevant and it was more like a glorified EU, but now it is only a few steps off a unitary state in many ways and that is despite the constitution and fear that would happen.

Generally though we need to build the h y p e before the UK finds its way back into the EU or Scotland finds its way out of the UK.

You guys are in a way harder position to defend though with the whole North Arctic thing though, you guys are hardly militarized though compared to Aus so if you did you could be a proper power even without it.

They already want free movement within the Anglosphere Monarchies (An average of about 80% support throughout the Anglosphere Monarchies) and there is huge post-Brexit support for it.

Both the left through their support for Globalism and the Right through their support for the Monarchy and Britain are in favour of some form of closer integration. Maybe not a full political union, but one step at a time.

>Alot of that is built in Australia however.
So what? That does not make them "self sufficient". If they want to build more Hornets they not only need the money but they need permission.

Australia as an economy is a fraction of the size of the USA and China. Yet it imports roughly the same share of international arms by value as them. That's huge. Look at all the military shit the UK imports and we don't even make the list!

For countries like India, China and the USA being on that list is fine because they have massive domestic industries going as well, but the smaller countries there are severely dependent.

Saudis are the worst but Australia is almost as bad. The fact that Australia is above South Korea really gives the game away.

>>65724243
>I doubt it, most remainers will be tell us till they day they die "Im European, not British!"

That's a load of shit. You're pretending the tiny fraction of hardcore insane Remainers represent all of them. You need to interact with the real world some more.

Exports for comparison

At least the devaluation in Sterling will help our defence exports....
>>
>>65730206
>psst hey guys, need some war toys? :^)
>>
>>65730206

Canada sitting pretty at number 10.

Our military may be falling apart but at least all the really sweet kit is going to the Saudis.
>>
>>65730334
What do you export to the Saudis
>>
>>65730356

A lot. Mostly armoured vehicles, that's kind of our specialty.

http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2016/06/15/canada-arms-exports-middle-east-saudi-arabia_n_10481662.html

We're the second largest arms exporter to Saudi right now, behind the yanks.

The really interesting thing is that the Canadian military is terribly underfunded, but we make basically everything ourselves. Australia on the other hand makes little more then the uniform on their backs but they have a way healthier budget and bipartisan support for military spending.

Basically, when Australia wants ships, they go to South Korea to build the hulls and then to the Spanish to militarize it before sending it to Australia for finishing touches. Low budget and short schedule.

Canada on the other hand will take 10 years to bail out whatever shipbuilding company on the East Coast and build it up again for the duration of the contract, to have the company go broke again when political infighting makes it so a next project isn't picked again for the next 10 years.
>>
>>65730507
>We're the second largest arms exporter to Saudi right now, behind the yanks.

That's pretty impressive

>The really interesting thing is that the Canadian military is terribly underfunded, but we make basically everything ourselves. Australia on the other hand makes little more then the uniform on their backs but they have a way healthier budget and bipartisan support for military spending.

Yeah. You need higher budget to get proper economies of scale out of the Canadian approach, otherwise you're not left with much to show for your money. Although Australia's defence strategy isn't even low budget in the short term, it's more costly in the long term because they still need to build up all those industries.

Australia:
24.66 billion USD
1.9% GDP

Canada:
14.09 billion USD
0.9% GDP

The difference really is huge

Never ever.

Anyways they're deploying on the Wasp next year, so the Marines get to work out all the kinks that will probably happen when operationally deployed before they get to you, so be happy about that.
>>
>>65731094
I suppose the saving grace for Canada is being so closely located to the US, no one will try and invade Canada without also having to deal with the US at the same time, kind of justifying the low funding.

Aus on the other hand is fucking miles away from any significant allies and are surrounded by Asian countries that have some stupidly high populations and militaries, so we gotta bridge that gap by staying on top of the military technology game courtesy of the US.
>>
>>65717384

I meant self sufficient as they can defend themselves against all reasonable threats in the area, not in import/export which Aus is fucking shocking at due to its low savings rate.
