For me Japanese is one of the bests to learn. Pronounciation is easy, the language itself is interesting, grammar is not a problem at all and the writing system is damn nice.
Chinese and Viet are good to learn, too.

The obvious benefit would be being able to consume that country's media more easily. Travelling would be much more simple as you can ask for directions. I've been at it for 7-8 months now, im 19, never attempt any language other than english, didnt even learn how to trill my r's until 7 months ago.

It's pretty fucking fun but it's also been immensely hard, adjusting to new grammar, a new sound, conjugations, verbs, inflections,alphabet, fuck you name it.

I imagine it's the same for learning other actual asian languages.

Any russophones that can judge my progress and see if i sound understandable at least?
