Problem with Swedish spelling that it didn't really either matched actual pronounciation(except for a few dialects) when it was introduced but as we suffer from the reverse syndrome that anglos and french suffer from we altered our pronounciation to fit spelling. A lot of spelling was changed in the big reform to reflect pronounciation too of course.

That said, Swedish and English have the same problem when it comes to fixing their spelling systems, although the problem is far bigger for English.

If you reform it, what do you reform it TO? You'll never be able to get it exactly right for every speaker. Swedish could attempt a High German style reform where they try to teach people to speak the "correct" dialect as a second form. English lacks the central authority to ever even try this.
