don't listen to this guy. Most Americans admit not knowing enough about it to hate it or love it, or are just indifferent or think of it in the same way they think of all religions (they all suck or are just out of date) with no special love or hate for Islam, and/or believe people shouldn't necessarily be judged solely on supposed religious affiliation, regardless of their own personal feelings towards the inherit merit of that religion. The only people who really hate Muslims are conservatives who actually think the ideal American society would be something like Columbia from Bioshock and complain about liberals and Muslim collaborating when the only reason for this is because they alienate potential Muslim-American voters who might even support some of their own conservative religiously inspired policies.

Also, Muslims here are way different from the Muslims Europe takes in. And Europeans these days are actually much more racist than us which is why they feel the need to try so hard not to come across as racist.

Had plenty of co-workers who were everything up to and including bonafide Satanists. In reality no one really gives a that much of a fuck about Muslims unless it's the fundie type. The Christian types are a known species and so it's just a matter of treating the hardcore allah types with equal disdain.
