honestly I feel sort of insulted and queasy looking at this stuff, its just Gaudy and lacking in the subtle style and eloquence that characterized European art/architecture and instead looks like an Oriental mess

modern minimalist stuff goes back to that original aesthetic without directly copying the Romans/Greeks which is nice, but there is definitely a lot of gaudy crap made today (like a lot of 'abstract' stuff) still art needs that to develop

its easy to make fun looking at tiny .jpegs online, but his art works best in person as an 'experience' simply due to the shear size and weight the piece has, not to mention the emotion it causes to well up when you look at the work

I like the clean simplicity of the design as well as the unassuming modesty of minimal design
while Brutalism and latter related styles remind me of Rome, Crisp Minimal design showing of the beauty of Function over Form while still being powerful and domineering

now I know they painted these all in bright colours but the design itself was the same and the Classical Greeks prided modest minimal designs over the overcomplicated and incoherent Eastern (Persian) ones
