Is there something similar to Ctrl Paint but for Clip Paint Studio out there?
I thought I'd get started with Ctrl Paint but sadly it's using Photoshop. Any recommendations please?

You can convert PS brushes to CSP brushes and do all tutorials

Haven't tried it myself yet but I'm guessing that should work perfectly

You can't "convert" PS brushes to CSP. You can import the brush shape, but since the brush engines are different they won't be the same. It is obviously possible to do approximations but there is no such thing as converting brushes

I'm wondering this as well. I'm taking this digital painting class and it requires photoshop. I have installed some pseudo photoshop brushes but I can't tell if it's the same shit or not because instead of working with opacity we're working with sai's brush adjustments. Any help to make this less confusing would be appreciated.

CSP is a lot like Photoshop. Two quick tips: learn how everything under "ink" works in the brush settings, there you'll find some of the main differences. Tip number two: you can paint with opacity which is super useful. It's simple, it turns any brush you're using into a temporary eraser without having to make a mask first. I find it really speeds up the workflow.

I already know what the settings do, it's the same as SAIs. Maybe I'm an idiot and overthinking it but I guess if, say, I want a less opaque brush I'd lower "density of paint" and if I want colors to blend more I'd lower "amount of paint" accordingly. Color stretch the same as persistence in sai...so what I'm saying is, essentially if I'm asked to "lower opacity to 50%" in the lecture I'd just have to make do adjusting density, yes?

Also I found a preset that behaves in opacity only but it feels just like the inks category and not fully a brush.

OP here. So you mean I should still do Ctrl Paint using CSP instead and figure my way out?

I felt comfortable in the idea of using something that'd hold my hand to get started but also wanted to get started with CSP right away since this is the program I decided to "main". Ideally knowing how to use PS could be a good idea as well in the future, but well...

Ctrl Paint is just digital painting basics, you could do it in any digital software. Photoshop is what most people use and therefore it's what's handholding you through, but you could easily figure it out with any other software.

There opacity slider in CSP, autist
>>

No, density is not the same as opacity.
You can lower opacity in Clip Studio just like in Photoshop though. To make the brushes work like in Photoshop you have to uncheck the whole "mix ground color" section. Best is to play around with brushes until you understand the difference yourself.

oh I didn't know that...

I see that now. This changes everything. One last thing what would be the equivalent of "flow" or do I not have to worry about it?
>>
>>3135399
No flow settings for now. At least in last update for english version. Just play with density and spacing instead.
>>
>>3135399

Density is pretty much flow
