I've been posting on Tumblr for a while and it's ok but I'm feeling that I'm missing out on a broader audience. Any suggestions?

Can you really not figure out on your own what the other major social media sites are? Do you really need someone to tell you that Instagram exists?

I use solely Instagram atm and I feel fine with it. I plan to open a Tumblr when I get more known.. at around 500 followers

Is instagram really a good place for art though? I feel it's more for teen age girls who take photos of their food. What i'm asking is how the culture around art there is

It's good. Is not excellent, y'know.. image size and everything... But there's much more people there and is much more easier to build an audience

You really don't have to wait.
Honestly, I find it more difficult to just make sure to keep every account updated.
Anyways, I have Facebook Page, Twitter, Tumblr, and have been trying to do Insta. Also still have Pixiv and Deviantart.
Facebook and Twitter is mainly what a I keep updated, I'm lazy so I just occasionally dumb shit on Tumblr. Instagram is great way to reaching out to huge audience.
Also, I have found countless artists through the Booru, so try to get your art on there if you can. Although I don't know how tight the quality control on those sites are, so see what happens.

Instagram has a great artist community. Most of the best artists have instagram accounts because it allows you to connect with a broad audience. Not only that, you can connect with artists who you respect (if you're good, anyway).

Jesus christ. How out of touch can you be?

Not op but honestly yes. Before a few months ago I thought instagram was something tweens were using to take selfies and such. I wouldn’t have thought artists would move there, especially under the assumption that it’s a photo app.
