Can i please get some help/crit on this face? I've been staring at it for way too long and even flipping horizontally throughout the image Im losing the ability to see whats wrong. A co-worker has said her face is too wide probably because the eyes are too wide. I'm struggling to tell the difference between "thats the style" and whats actually shit & weird looking
Thank you

the eyes are unsettling. She looks like an alien. The eyes are way too wide. "b- but muh style" your style is shit
>>3124387
I've always drawn "alien" looking type girls because im shit. but that makes it increasingly difficult to tell how to fix it which is why im asking for help, would you care to redline please?
>>3124389
Why don't you just study eyes from reference? Delete your anime reference sub-file and get some LOOMIS.
>>3124378
>>3124389
I tried making the face thinner and then made each eye and mouth thinner too. is this looking better?
I traced over it.
Not sure if this "redline" is correct coming from a /beg/ but the space between the eyes are too narrow. Also the nose and lips doesn't line up in perspective in regards to the eyes (spacial relation something something).

I did do a lot of studies (including loomis) but after 10 years of doing art (mostly non digital, mostly non-women/human) i'm finding it really hard to apply references to my art and being able to "see" whats wrong with them cos im balls deep in really bad habbits. I'll try keep up with more regular studies though thank you and hopefully it will improve
>>3124405
thanks a lot thats actually helpful!! I think things have gradually shifted over the hours too so I'll recheck everything lines up etc. thanks
>>3124389
personally the thing for me is, you're giving her anime proportions but at the same time you're also giving them a bit of realism which makes the piece quite unsettling.
first of all I guess it really depends, do you want to go for a more anime or realistic look?

Here's my edit
Eyes, eyebrows, and lips all need to be shrunken.
Nose and face needs to be stretched.
Also add edges to bangs.
>>3124407
You're welcome! I've found out that studying from Loomis just isn't enough for me. He only gives general tips as a good head start and focuses more on the male head... I personally had much more success combining Loomis+Hamm+Photographic references. Good luck!

Blog?
>>3124378
Was it supposed to be a trap, though?
>>3124405
don't know why but I did a line over of the anon helping. ask if something is unclear, op too
>>3124411
here's an edit for the more "anime side" if you want to go more for that aesthetic
-eyes should be very round, the cuter/younger the rounder while the older/masculine the sharper
-avoid harsh edges on face
-noses should be very small, simple and not overly detailed
-avoid avoid nose being too far from the lips, they should be in a close proximity
>>3124462
forgot the pic lol
this is a pretty shoddy edit but here's the jist -
ears should be closer to the side of the head
round out the nose
the nose and the mouth should be approximately equal in width. your mouth was too wide
jawline and cheekbone area should be less rounded
fivehead should be converted to forehead
eyebrows less arched
make the hair less plastic looking
and eyes less big and wide
alright I think I'm done, I tried to take everyone's help on board- thanks a lot. I'm not sure if its still a bit shit but I'm drawing a line under it now and moving on- I will apply everyone's help to my future works and hopefully become better!
>>3124537
sorry i didn't see your reply till I was done but thanks a lot for your help!
>>3124537
sorry but your edit makes her look like she's dying
>>3124559
It's looking better, but it may be the overall eye shape that's off putting, besides that everything else looks fine.
>>3124578
thanks, guess i just need to learn how to fucking draw :')
>>3124537
lol, you just changed his whole fucking style. And he actually took the advice.
Both of you are fucking idiots.
The correct answer was to ask OP to do one more new drawing and then see what stylistic elements work.
>>3124615
Well if you read >>3124559 I said that I didn't even see that person's post till after I finished it
>The correct answer was to ask OP to do one more new drawing and then see what stylistic elements work.
Not really a feasible answer because I had already completed 95% of the image, I just needed help finishing up the face. If you're suggesting I scrap it and start again on that piece that's not really time efficient. Whatever you mean, its the least helpful advice in this thread
i dont draw but i tried. the style is too ugly to make it look any better

damn, your edit is garbage
>>3124464
Do you have a blog or something?
>>3124378
late to the party
How come these days when newfags create their own thread gets more traction and critique than /beg/ and the draw thread?
You faggots just encouraged the incoming flux of snowflakes. Learn to sage and hide.
>>3126679
fuck off you jelly bastard, just because noone replies to your loomis threads
>>3126731
>>implying that I post my draws in the loomis threads
hahAHAHAHAHA, nice try.
