What do you guys think of my character designs? Any critiques, rates or feedback would be welcome.

I like when character design tells me a story.
But I'm not really sure what you're conveying here. How does it work? What's the theme of this guy?
>>3121254
I usually cover the faces with masks so that's probably why I need more practice with them.
>>3121257
His name his Flatliner and his fists are essentially defibrilators. If he punches you your heart stops beating or starts again if wasn't beating already. Hence the heart rate monitor symbols
>>3121262
lol dat nipple. Try to control more your linework
>>3121277
Hard to control my lines using my shitty unresponsive stylus so I usually just erase half my mess afterwards but looks rushed ig.
>>3121257
I hope this one clears it up a bit :^)
Your ideas are nice, now you just have to work on values and linework. Do lots of studies to learn how different matherials work..

I'm definitely working on my textures.
Keep in mind I'm not trying to reach photorealism just a Jack Kirby type of comic book style.
Character design is there to solve a problem, to tell a part of the story. These aren't that. They're weird idea vomits at best.
What's your setting? What role so these guys play in it? Don't answer that in words, it's what the picture is fucking for.
They've got edgy post apoc all over them, and if that's what you're going for, good. You've got one thing right. Next start thinking about if you want an apocalypse that looks like everyone else's, and why everyone else's look the way they do. Isolate the influences on purpose, not because you think a thing looks rad to be that way.
And if these aren't things you wanna do then they're not character designs. They're doodles of some weird dudes. Characters inhabit a space and time and role and convey things to a given audience. Doodles are fun for your school notebooks.

the texture is nice, and the idea behind the face is cool. those muscles are really bad. You know now what you should be focusing for

I don't agree with this. The designs clearly answer some questions about the characters psyche

without the context of the finished story is hard to judge

Well firstly it isn't a post apocalyptic story its more in the sci fi/superhero genre. I started these because I had grown bored of the normal capeshit and wanted to make my own unique characters with actual personal human problems and stories as they have to deal with superhuman abilities that their bodies weren't designed for. For example in pic related you will see a man with a pretty common power in comics; the elastic body. He can stretch his limbs to extreme lengths. Except a human heart cannot pump blood all the way to end of his limbs once they're stretched out. How comic writers would usually solve that plot hole would be to say "Oh and he has a super strong heart as another power so shut up lol." But I wanted to solve it in a more interesting original way. I understand what you're saying and why but I did choose just about all aspects of these characters very carefully.

I don't think you finished your sentence
>>3121417
Why leave the vessels exposed then
>>3121441
He wears armour over the suit in the pic. That pic is just to show whats underneath.
>>3121470
>elastic armor
honestly, i don't think you get the right approach.
You think that making a gimmicky changes is enough to make a decent story or a decent character. It is not
>>3121179
Edgy/10. Not really interesting, lacks any sort of visual cohesion, is pretty overdone.
Try for larger, simpler tattoos to reduce visual clutter. There's just too much going on here right now, so see what you can cut.
>>3121181
I like it. Everything ties together well and the smiley face adds a lot of character.
>>3121237
Again, I think there's too much going on here and you could probably simplify things a bit. Keep large shapes in mind.
That said, I think you could use some black on the arms instead of the pattern, to match the black of the legs, which is really dominating right now.
>>3121503
I didn't say the armour was elastic.
>>3121262
That's not how defibrillators work
>>3121505
Thank you. I appreciate the feedback. I'll definitely take it into consideration. You're welcome to critique the others too. I find it important to see things from an audience perspective.

I said "essentially" not "exactly." Clearly this is /ic/ not /lit/.
