How could any art in existence even hope to compare to the almighty style known as "intense impressionism?"

these kitschy waste of oils are as popular as those shitty sprayed planets, I don't see what's the problem with criticizing bad art
>>

when its not actually bad and you are just looking to start a hate circlejerk to not feel as jealous
>>
>>3111343
These is the equivalent of Thomas Kinkade, the only difference is that Kinkade knew how to use a brush instead of just using a palette knife.
But if you can't see why these paintings and Kinkade's paintings are bad then I don't know what to say, but hey go ahead and enjoy them.

And no, I'm not jealous of whoever painted this, I'm jealous of many great painters and artists, but not this one.

kinkad's palette was not nearly as vibrant, nor were his strokes as wide as those used by the early daniel wall or the current leonid afremov.

he also stuffed many of his paintings with FUCKING DISNEY CHARACTERS
>>
It is nice to look at.
>>
>>3111427
I'm not talking about technique, they are both kitschy/cheesy/tacky as fuck artists. Daniel Wall and Afremov make cheesy paintings, that's just what they do, they do it to sell to fat lonely housewives that want to dream about having a colorful romantic night out with their husband, but you know why they don't go out with their husband? you want to know why the husband always comes late from "work"? It's because he knows that his wife has a completely shitty taste for paintings

Kinkade's paintings are vibrant and when it comes to skill he's a world away from Daniel Wall's fingerpainting garbage. Sure, they're all kitsch but I doubt Daniel Wall, let alone anyone here could replicate Kinkade's work if they even tried

I didn't say now, it was always kitsch, it's just impressionism done with a pallet knife and saturated colors.

"intense impressionism" are you kidding ? even the name sounds stupid, great contribution "intense impressionism" is giving to humanity. Art history and philosophy wouldn't be the same without these "intense impressionists". Monet wished he could be a intense impressionist but he ended up being just a impressionist, poor Monet.

disregarding that wall's current works, namely his portraits, are clearly not just using pallet knives, standard impressionism is just bad photocopying with optional color wash-out, so what's your point?

Brian here. honestly i think its funny that the last art meme is "Neo-Impressionism". It's the movement that never happened but everyone's been waiting for. Impressionism is the movement that still speaks to contemporary artists, we've all just been trying to figure out how to do it again.

That style is genuinely hideous. There's near zero harmony between colors, it's just a vomit of highly saturated colors. What a world of difference between that and real impressionism.

doing shit better than the last guy, IE making objective improvements

but then again, that's why art is a joke of a profession
>>
>>3112979

There's a big difference between Monet, Renoir, Degas, etc.. to what OP posted. Even abstract artist like Kandinsky have a better sense and use of color. This goes beyond being first, the art that OP posted is objectively hideous.

Monet also painted this you twats... stop cherrypicking paintings that you don't like by impressionists. they painted. you obviously don't.
>>
>>3113288
the technical skill is there but some of the colors could stand to be a bit richer, particularly the bushes
>>
>>3113301
>some of the colors could stand to be a bit richer, particularly the bushes
a criticism that could be levied against most of monet's (and true impressionist's) paintings. He was most powerful on dreary, rainy days. but to imply he wasn't tip of the spear for artists of his generation is ridiculous. He was immensely talented.

This is a study I did based upon that style. I am still trying to figure it out. All the things I did wrong in this painting, other people loved. The water and reflections in it. I created it by painting the reflection first, then come in with the water. I need to keep practicing.

No Daniel Wall is the painter I copied from. Afrimov has light posts as the light source. Daniel Wall uses sunsets for the primary light source, and I added some light posts.
