Hey 4chan, just self tattoed my first tattoo, i had only laid down the lines so i still have the shading and color to go, do you have any advise, critique or suggestion? Even tho its a tattoo some mistakes may be fixed very easily in the future. Im mostly concerned about the leafs on top, been thinking about doing 1 more. Even tho i'm mostly happy with the outcome of the first session, be nice please.

Your lines are pretty decent, but I can see some wiggles, mostly around the leaves, and a few spots where the lines don't match up right. Also, the top teeth seem to be out of perspective with the bottom ones. Otherwise not too shabby, keep up the good work senpai.

You should have asked that before you put that drawing on your leg.
Roses are gay.
Drawing lines between front teeth is what only beginners do - it won't look well. And white ink goes much harder under skin than black ink, so you'll have a bad time fixing it.
Your leafs look ugly and unnatural - you didn't use enough reference.
Proportions look kinda weird - I can't recognize what kind of creature it was.
Perspective of upper jaw and lower jaw doesn't mach up.

Start saving up for a tattoo removal/10.

could you have chosen an even gayer place to tattoo that?

My critique is to stop scratching. Those issues are not "easily fixed". At least if you want a quality tattoo. Dont listen to people who dont actually tattoo. Those lines are garbage. The design looks lame. Maybe its cause the camera doesn't capture tattoos well since it is on a curved surface. Still though It took me a while to figure out what it was. Its not applied technically well at all. Im not trying to diss your artistic ability. Tattoos are nothing like drawing on paper. If you actually want to do it right go get an apprenticeship at a quality tattoo shop and commit fully to it as a career. You cant cut corners. Its very rare that a scratcher ever succeeds in the industry, the only ones that ever do already have an extensive art background. Usually they didnt know any better and could of easily went and got an apprenticeship with their art background. If you think its something you can do on the side or just for fun please dont. To cover a shitty tattoo properly it two or three times the work of a regular tattoo. Not to mention you probably have no idea of how to properly sterilize equipment and and prevent contamination etc. I guess if you just want to make people look trashy and potentially give them an infection then go for it. I promise if you have any class at all you will eventually regret it. Also most quality tattooers wont "fix" that for you. You probably find some lazy unartistic copy artist who will glady put the ink in solid and take your money. Then you will have a weird looking tattoo that you will be stuck with unless you want to do a bunch of lazer sessions. Sorry had to rant, i get you want to do it, and it may even look easy or maybe you are a really talented artist for all i know. Still though, either commit 100% and get an apprenticeship or just dont do it. Its disrespectful to the craft, and there are already way to many hacks out there, even "professionals" who suck . Pay no attention to them, look at quality tattooers and tattoos.

I think the wiggles are supposed to be there. After, skulls and leaves are organic. It would look weird if the lines were too perfect.
The only suggestion I have is to maybe add some line thickness variation. But overall it looks pretty good.
