You should be able to solve this.
ok
>>3096294
You mean draw the shape in 3 dimensional space?
>>3096294
Drew this in my legit copy of Autocad on my Cintiq after doing some Copic studies.
I'll post my actual attempt in a sec but its interesting what you made seems totally masculine lines vs feminine
here is man angry at boat aka /ic/
and woman admiring vase aka tumblr
>>3096384
Did you even understand the point of the image you double nigger
>>3096294
I dont undertand it, are we supposed to do the whole block or is it just the middle line?
>>3096413
lol i did i said i was about to post my actual attempt
>>3096294
you are right
>>3096447
Second
This looks like fun and a good way to think in 3d without risk of symbol drawing. Is there a collection of these exercises somewhere?
>>3096476
wrong, you'd see lines where those ledges are
>>3096484
>>3096469
Or could I even do it with just random shapes? I suppose the problem is I would have no answer key tho
>>3096447
just kidding here we go
>>3096503
sh-show off!
Did you make this OP? Cool concept
>>3096520
If he did he needs to make more. This is the sekrit to get gud quick.
>>3096526
How so?
Good exercise, thanks op.
Whoever does this right without 3D or point projection should be crowned the ultimate form feeler.
hows this?
>>3096539
I'm a brainlett, what exactly is this exercise?
I really don't understand what OP expects.
>>3096559
Your brain has really let you down
this legitimately hurts my brain
>>3096294
/beg/ here
i dont get it, whats so hard?
>>3096579
Nothing. OP had a point.
>>3096528
Yeah I know. I felt like doing it in blender instead.
I tried.
Back to /beg/ with me.
>>3096294
I can draw and this still hurt my brain
>>3096559
It's projection, a technique used to construct 3D forms from 2D "blueprints".
You draw a box, slap those pictures on the sides and extract your form out of it.
It forces you to think in 3D.
ok now actually constructed
I guess that would work on both views
>>3096665
and still wrong af
>>3096681
nope. wash your eyes
I picked a bad perspective to try this.
>>3096453
why are people still posting?
>>3096294
>pedo=isis
>>3096691
Does the OP's front view have horizontal lines on the left? Because yours does.
I was expecting people to fuck up perspective and shit, but holy fuck how are so many of you literally too retarded to grasp this exercise?
>>3096539
I feel like you got the side view's horizontal line wrong
>>3096782
I think we have a winner.
>>3096680
doesnt have the outer rectangle shape
Is this correct?
>>3096294
I really don't understand this form, can you draw the top view?
>>3096294
Make more of dem REEEEEEEE
>>3096827
There are no lines in real life
Damn are you a peice a of shit
Really nice thread. I feel refreshed after reading that lame art edit thread by some kiwiwathever.
step aside, autists
>>3097014
oh no
Is there a 3D program that can help help doing this? This sounds like a good exercise but my brain is just too dumb to do this without any visual aids.
>>3097042
What is the point of doing a drawing exercise with CAD?
>>3097042
yes. that's basically how you do 3d
>>3097042
Drafting class had a lot of these projection exercises. The more you do them, the simpler they become. Don't worry about drawing a fully rendered shape, just draw it as if it were a metal wire.
>>3097044
To help you better understand a shape in 3D space. That's a skill that's greatly beneficial to develop / already have.
>>3097042
SURE IS
Look into Trimble Sketchup. It's free, and people use it for anything from mocking up a scene in 3D to conceptually modelling things quickly to see if they're physically feasible.
>>3096294
This is a cool study, but the example you used could be more creative. It requires at least one of the sides (out of the 2 sets of 2 shapes) to be completely flat.
See attached. I was hoping to prove myself wrong
>>3097821
Where can I learn decent presentation skills like yours?
>>3097821
neat, i wish i weren't so lazy i just scribbled out 4 or 5 iterations in paint lol
