>>3094602
I quite like it.
>>3094698
Is it just me, or does anyone else think that Rembrandt's figures are always kind of stocky?
Sometimes they even look like children with adult faces, maybe it's just his earlier work.
>>3094760
And the water looks like cotton candy. I think it's because it's too many figures in complex poses. So overall it looks kind of wonky.
this one is more fun imo, though where the fuck are most of them even looking?
>>3094732
Is that pixiv actually Yoh Yoshinari? Isn't it just a rumour?
>>3094773
Two of the middle guys are actually looking at the corpse, the third looks at the doctor's fingers (lol?) and the rest is just staring in different directions.
What's funny is that the second guy from the left gives the vibe of a photograph. I mean it looks like he just turns because he heard someone photographing him.

>>3094779
>the third looks at the doctor's fingers
I think he's looking at the book. Two others are looking at the viewer, the one with some notes is actually looking at the corpse too, and the leftmost one is looking at the lecturer.
>I mean it looks like he just turns because he heard someone photographing him.
He heard someone (the viewer) enter the room.
Ferenc Pinter

The shit taste in this thread is rampant. it's obvious that none of you are going to make it.

I've seen it many times in person. Photos can't capture his color.
>people are claiming to be inspired by old masters artwork with classical themes
>no one on this board ever tries to draw or paint in this style or uses similar subject matters
So how do they actually inspire you? If I look at what artists on this board draw the thread should be full of modern Asian illustrators and western concept artists instead of classical painters.
Are you just being pretentious?

Yusuke Murata has recently become a huge inspiration since I found out that he really only uses the same materials that I do. But it also kind of stings knowing that it isn't my lack of tools that is the problem, it's my lack of gitting gud

Frazetta is the master of thicc girls
I am thinking 'bout starting painting with oils after being a digital/pencil fag so long. Does anybody have some really good refs? Preferably landscapes and animals, not portraits. Something that is a bit easier to explain if you hang it on your wall.

>"screams amateur"
the only amateur thing is you screaming at it because it doesn't follow a "rule" you were taught. protip: good art often breaks the rules. also it was clearly painted with a larger brush that is a bit streaky and imitates a brush that has a frayed end.
>>3107464
the common advice is that the bigger the better, but it comes down to personal taste in the end. some people paint huge images with a tiny brush and it looks good. adrian smith is an example of this. other people like bouguereau blended all the brushstrokes anyways so it doesn't matter what size he used.
