Expression of beauty. The difficult question is what beauty is. For many years, beauty was considered as a manifestation of perfection, yet romanticists degraded the idea of beauty into a faux perfection resembling political propaganda, the realists rejected human's inner self as beauty, the modernists rejected all forms of reality to push their own personal idea of perfection, and the post modernists rejected the idea of beauty as perfection.

If these ideas of what beauty resembled an XY Chart, I'd say that art lies somewhere in the center.
