I've been reading some ebooks that are pretty good for their lessons and such, but I'm considering getting a couple to keep as reference.
What are some good books worth having around while you draw? What are your personal choices? I have a couple of anatomy books that have been invaluable lately, and I wonder what other books could come in handy while working. I've been wondering if there's anything like a handbook on lighting or color that can be useful while painting.
Personal opinion, but I don't think buying isntructional or reference books is worth it anymore
Video tutorials are usually more useful because you can see the person doing the work. For reference you can use google
I buy artbooks of my favorite artists
Starting strength by Mark Rippletits, start lifting and get some muscle gains to observe yourself and learn how body kinetics work

Or, start going to gym, befriend egotystical aesthetic gym rats, start dropping hints you want to make art gains. When you have fully gained their trust draw them all day everyday

I combat that with my own personal opinion: having seen video art tutorials, they don't teach much more than what's in books already. All the useful bits that can be explained by a live drawing artist (such as thought processes behind construction shapes) can be put in a book. There's not much more a video tutorial will give you; recordings of the way they hold a pencil or draw a line isn't going to teach you anything that's not in a book.
