I'm curious if anyone has advice on working with screentones/halftones. It's like the one thing I just can't really get to look right digitally.

I need help.
And not of the anatomical kind (though that is still an issue too and i am aware of it)

This took me way to many HOURS and see myself getting any faster, I am already about to make excuses like "well i am still learning to use my ellbow more instead of my wrist and i get anatomically ever better and i have to make sure stream is entertained and chat is engaged while working. I did not use a referencence and making low angle images look good is hard" but all these things do not justify me spending hours on what should be half an hour at most for a professional...
Issue is while i see myself getting better in most regards due to practice and understanding, i only see mself getting slower with the more details i try to take into account. I do not know how to practice "speed", I did figure drawings but never to a level where i say "okay this strikes a nice balance between anatomical correctness and time invested." I'm afraid when i set the figure drawing timer to lower than 5-6 minutes that i commit anatomy errors to muscle memory instead of learning anatomy + speed.

sorry for the wall of text, this really bothers me about my artistic progress. Hope someone can help :(

coming off a years-long drawing hiatus because I got tired of thinking I could draw better than the porn I got off to.
trying out SAI, and so far really enjoying what the program can do.

Overall I think I've figure the problem, of course after trying to make this work after a while before giving up on that part for now. I haven't emplemented this bit, but basically it doesn't really look like she's looking down, logically her head would be leaning down a bit, but it kinda isn't for no real reason...

As far as the other characters, I think it largely stems from not seeming to have any solid relation yet, though I'm sorting out how to make it look like the one on the left is partially hanging off of her while the other is climbing between the webbing that's suspended her where she is.

Friend, lighting is the least of your concerns. You need basic construction skills. Dont skip steps, start with Loomis and work your way up. Dont create a character before understanding forms.

In general, digital is way more better if you want to make anything out of it. It's very easy to edit and rework on something, and go much further than on paper for the details, which is important for erotic stuffs but it's need to be accurate.

If you say that I guess you don't have much experience with digital I guess, but I'd definitely tell you it's worth getting on it.

Personally I find it more satisfying to fap to few thousand well drawn pictures than ten thousand pics of varying quality, and there's less of a chance of finishing on an unsatisfying piece.
Not to mention how much more I can appreciate every picture I consider saving, and being able to judge thumbnails results in fewer tabs left unviewed when crawling for new material.

Most references I've come across on the internet either have weird rest poses (like the model being kicked in the lower back while having her arms pulled back and inwards) or are different from the front and side, and the artists frequently shy away from drawing clearly defined breasts and ass.

I'm not sure if I can explain it very well, but for the most part I'm applying the same standard light and shadow principles you'll learn from anyone, but painting them with a very large transparent rectanglular brush and keeping it loose. Things facing the light are brighter, things facing away are darker
