Yeah I do and I know a bunch of other people from /ic/ who use it too. So do plenty of professionals. None of them act like you described so clearly you are wrong with your generalization. Then again, I never felt the need to give unasked critiques to some random, emotionally unstable chick either. If you go out of your way to interact with that portion of DA, why would you be surprised that this is what you get in response? Clearly you are actively searching for this shit at that point.

This isn't just one person, but it feels like the large majority of them.

I've met a lot of people on the website, been using it for almost 5 years, and never have I ever met a more unfortunate community of SJW, shitty teens, and garbage millennials.

Hell, i would be even more willing to admit Tumblr has a better community as a whole.

I met my best friend through the website, but literally every other person i've met is a fucking asshole, turns into a asshole, or just isn't my cup of tea because they tend to be from the more SJW side of Tumblr.

Of course, and I personally don't mind if someone critiques my work. What I'm wondering is why would YOU bother to write unasked critiques for the autistic / shit tier portion of the DA userbase? Do you not have anything better to do with your time? I use Deviantart to promote myself, do the occasional commission and network with other artists who are at around my skill level or better.

If you had read the original post you would know that i didn't write it, a friend of mine did himself.

We got into a conversation about this chick who had her fans doxx me, at that point i was forced to delete my account. He mentioned that he wanted to write a critique for her, and told him not to start anything, but he went ahead anyways. Her intimidate reaction was to start spreading bullshit about me again, like claiming i called her a pedophile, or made people attack her, which i have never EVER done.

Now, keep in mind this is my only story of a specific case like this, but many other people have had this happen to them, like a insane amount. Look it up.

I've heard of people making there own website for there own personal art, but that's kinda a hassle. Some image sharing websites i've seen people get VERY popular through, such as Sankaku Complex, but that's more of a porn sharing website.

DA really does dominate the market currently, I would try Paigeeworld if you're really not a fan of Tumblr's platform.

It's not DeviantArt, it's humanity - most of us are programmed to be horrified of rejection and critique, and become desperate and unstable when it occurs. It can induce panic attacks in some, because it was evolutionary viable. Should we really blame the chick for her suffering and fear?
