Anons, what's the simplest and easiest 3d program to learn? All I want to do is put down some basic shapes on a terrain to make perspective and composition easier for myself in the future.
Do you have first hand experience with this?
How much time investment does it take to learn it?
Do you use any software?
How often do you use it?

SketchUp. Has very limited lighting but really you don't even need it. Shapes in their most rudimentary form are incredibly easy to create. Should only take an hour or two to get a fairly good grasp of the most basic and important tools you'll ever need.

If you try it, check out the SketchUp warehouse online where you can download lots of props, buildings and so on.
