>tfw when you realize the secret to drawing good is understanding Perspective and how to model/sculpt in 2D
>tfw when almost no one in this board understands the importance of this and runs around like a headless chicken doing nothing but sight-seeing everything, expecting to one day become a master of drawing from imagination
Wew lad
>>3064286
Literally everyone on this board constantly mentions perspective being by far the most important fundamental. Congrats on finally being on the same page as everyone else, OP.
>>3064289
Go to the /beg/ thread, and show me a single person practicing Perspective.
>>3064292
/beg/ thread is retard quarantine.
>>3064292
Do you expect them to listen?
Half of them aren't even human with the way they draw, probably.
>>3064295
I think your cranium is a retard quarantine.
>>3064297
Yes, I have convinced some over the months to learn construction by drawing bugs and seen improvement. I rather help people that simply insult their intelligence.
>>3064292
never been to /beg/ before, so I had no idea what they were up to, but looks like even there you can find a bunch of people practicing perspective. So, one again, congratulations, you have figured out that perspective is the most important fundamental, which I guess puts you ahead of ~60% of /beg/.
>>3064022
>>3064146
>>3063142
>>3064303
At least one of those is my work.
>>3064303
I don't think you understand the point of this thread, you mong. But thank you for the bumps, it helps me help others.
>>3064292
thats what draw a box is, babies first perspective
boxes and bad gesture drawings are 90% of the thread so you couldn't be more wrong
>>3064309
>He thinks drawing boxes without any idea what they represent makes sense
Post your werk
>>3064310
you draw the boxes so you can then understand what they represent??
>>3064310
>literally the most basic form that shows perspective
>BUT WHAT DOES IT MEAN????!?!?!!??
>>3064314
>>3064323
Merely drawing boxes is nothing, one needs to understand the rules what makes a box and how to modify it. You won 't learn that just by drawing boxes from imagination, you need to understand a bit about Perspective rules and industrial design.
Not only that, but you need to know how to add and substract from a box so you can sculpt.
>>3064326
>you need to understand a bit about perspective rules to study perspective
whoa
>>3064332
I bet my ass you can't even draw a good lucking square, lmao.
>>3064339
if anyone wanted your ass, you wouldn't be a virgin, anon :^)
>>3064340
>if could draw a good looking square, I wouldn't be a virgin, anon :^)
Fixed that for you.
shit bait sage
>>3064355
You're trying too hard. Go back to playing with your pencils little boy
>>3064357
>He can't even draw a simple square
You got squared, brah.
>>3064286
Could you post some of your work OP? Also sage.
>>3064364
>Sages my thread
>Expects me to post my work
Really? Give me two bumps and I'll post something for you.
>>3064370
Sorry I don't bump up pussies. Shit bait sage. OP is a fraudster troll until he posts something. Move along people.
Pic related it's OP
>>3064373
You're in my thread, imbecile. Please me or fuck off.
>>3064295
>/beg/ thread is retard quarantine.
Made my day!
>>3064570
Not sure why people say that, because honestly. /ic/ in general is pretty retarded.
>>3064286
>tfw you realize something that 90% of art books emphasize in the first chapter
Woah
Drawing from life is incredibly important to learn how to draw from imagination. You must learn to walk before you can run.
>>3065846
Learning to draw from life won't necessarily teach you how to construct life-like drawings from imagination. It could, but it would mean re-inventing the wheel.
I think most people here I really not understanding the point of this thread, and believe that what I meant with ''Perspective'' was a mere horizon line with vanishing points.
>>3065862
What you mean is probably construction, then
>>3065867
>>3065867
Indeed, which is nothing but a technique of Perspective. If what I was talking about was so common, we would see more people practicing that and we don't. All these capt obvious responses in this thread probably don't even understand the utility in such skill.
Imagine a fucking world here /beg/ start by learning how Perspective works, and then being made to draw ortos of basic objects like hair-dryers and dildos? They would git gud in no time.
>>3065869
/beg/ does teach that, but the problem with /beg/ is that it's full of people who aren't serious about art, and beginners who are serious but also only get critique from other beginners
>>3065893
>/beg/ does teach that
I sure haven't seen any of that teaching in the last 5 months of begging. OP's dont even post any perspective related exercises, just references images to ''draw from life''.
Every time I've posted construction drawings, people wanted to do them to, they just didn't know how to even start.
>>3065903
This is part of the sticky posted at the beginning of every thread, but nobody ever reads the OP
>>3065909
What a bunch of faggots then, if only they did. They would improve in months what some do in years. Wrods are not enough, they must be spammed with construction exercises.
>>3064286
>"literally no one on this board" understand the importance of perspective, more important than sight-seeing
>>3065869
>/beg/ doesn't start by learning perspective!
>no one understands my point
No, you changed your point.
BESIDES, wow, you're surprised /beg/ is full of beginners not doing perspective when the fucking sticky of this board tells you to do sight-seeing first?
>>3065918
> Perspective and how to model/sculpt in 2D
>how to model/sculpt in 2D
>how to model/sculpt in 2D
>how to model/sculpt in 2D
>how to model/sculpt in 2D
>BESIDES, wow, you're surprised /beg/ is full of beginners not doing perspective when the fucking sticky of this board tells you to do sight-seeing first?
Yes, specially since you can train sight-seeing as your do construction exercises. Effectively improving both as the same time.
>>3065925
Either I'm thick or too high for this but idk what your first point is.
>Yes, specially since you can train sight-seeing as your do construction exercises. Effectively improving both as the same time.
Yeah, but they don't know that. What I mean is, assuming not much prior knowledge, how can you be surprised that they're just doing what they're told?
>>3066024
I am not surprised at all, who the fuck surprises themselves unless someone fucking spooks you from a dark corner at 3 am anyway? I sure don't.
>>3064286
/beg/ shitter, so what, do I just grind Draw a Box until I master perspective/construction and the rest will just fall into place? I've never really drawn before (sans a few months of how to draw anime when I was 12); I'm only learning how to draw to illustrate all the comic and scripts I've written. Is this the best way to go about things?
>>3064295
Indeed
>>3066044
You do Scott Robertson How to Draw book, so you can understand how to make little squares that you can divide or multiply and carve into them, or ad parts to them. It's basically, learning how to model in 2D. Then, once you have these basic tools, you go, gather a bunch of cool shit you like and draw boxes, and carve a model of the shit you like out of those boxes!! That way the shit you actually draw matters, because you are understanding how the thing is put together, since you are literally sculpting it from zero.
You improve 3D, spatial thinking skills at the same time you increase your visual library. Do enough of that, and form starts to become second nature to you. Once your visual library is good enough, you can start designing your own shit!
You can't fail, son.
