So /ic/, I've been wondering - how much time do you spend on a single drawing? I always feel like I should be faster, and I'm curious.
Pics+time spent would be greatly appreciated.

spent 3 hours on this. it's done for me, but the head would have taken another hour.

How do I get as good as you?

on a sketch like no more than 5 to 10 minutes, on a finished thing it just depends on how finished i want it . i always feel like i take too long on finished stuff to. but think about how the old masters would spend possibly hundreds of hours on one painting.
Debating whether or not to post pics, but something cel-shaded or just flat colors takes me 10 to 30 minutes depending on complexity. Something fully painted/rendered takes like 4 hours because I'm new to painting digitally and haven't developed an efficient workflow.

lots of studies + vilppu, proko, loomis.

it really depends on how far i intend to take the piece, longest one i've worked on took me like 25 hours i think. i tend to take my time even with linedrawings cause i'm in no rush and i'd rather have my things look good before moving forward, then it's all about how much time i'm willing to sink into rendering form and all the detail stuff
i really suggest you stop worrying about time especially if you are still at beginner/ intermediate level and focus on getting your drawing/ painting to look correct before anything else, only go as fast as you can with accuracy
rushing things will lead to snowball effect where you pile mistakes after making one and you end up with unfinished and incorrect looking painting/drawing
speed comes with experience, take your time ,have some patience friend :)
>anons saying 30 minutes for cel/flats
>a few hours for a fully rendered piece
How the fuck, that's pro-level speed
I can sketch a face or pose in minutes, but fixing mistakes and beginning lineart will take half an hour at the very least, lineart could take an hour
I often make multiple sketch layers for the same pose fixing what I rushed through.

my guess, either anon's work is really simple or hes a seasoned pro
i know an industry pro who is really fast sketcher/ concept designer and he says a a well rendered character takes him AT LEAST 4 hours from sketch to final and even that is for not so complicated designs
illustration work is known to take really long time, iirc at riot they give the artists like a month to complete a plash illustration
so yeah a lot of factors but the important part is how good the result is, not the time spent
hell, if you can paint a nice looking image in 10 minutes good for you, but people work for days and even months on some images, just imagine what could you achieve if you spent a month on a single piece

>either anon's work is really simple
Yeah, that's pretty much it.

It depends on how complex and how big what I'm drawing is. This drawing of Minori I did about a week ago took 4-5 hours to complete but I was using (https://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/kagura/images/5/5c/Minori_Rare.JPG/revision/latest?cb=20151022004612) as a reference so I spent less time fussing over what looks right and not screwing up her proportions (1/2)
Compare to this drawing I did today without any references and took me 1-2 hours (2/2)
