Can someone give advices of how to take care of you back? Do i have to exercise some specific muscles like the butt and legs to not worry about back issues in the future? My back hurts so much while drawing and i'm worried about not making it because of that.

exercising your back doesn't hurt but also making sure you have proper drawing setups so that you are not straining your back unnecessarily will go a lot further in preventing back pain. here are some recommendations:

>proper drawing table
get yourself a proper drawing table. a table with an adjustable angle is best, that way you can find that sweet spot of "great angle for drawing + won't strain your back"

>get a goddamn chair
i know we are all poor and it's hard to justify spending money on a nice chair when any surface will do to sit on. but this is your back and your ability to draw for long periods of time that we are talking about here. invest in your back, invest in your work.
alternatively:
buy a large yoga/exercise ball and use it as a chair. they are cheap, and a 70 mm one works as a good height for sitting. it forces you to maintain a good posture and at the same time it does little mini exercises for your back and stomach, the entire time you are sitting on it. this is what I use.

>if you are working detail, get a magnifying glass
without knowing what kind of scale you are working on, this recommendation may not be necessary. but if you are working on a small scale or if your surface is far away from your face, get a magnifying glass with an adjustable arm so that you don't have to bend your back.

What to look for in a chair?

Also can someone post the youtube video with hand exersices for cts? I can't find it and my hand has been hurting for a while

No idea how these FZD faggots do it for so many hours
>>

its always a good idea to do exercise if you sit a lot

just dont go to /fit/, deadlifts and squats will fuck up your back

you could go to a gym and have a personal trainer write an exercise routine for you

>deadlifts and squats will fuck up your back
Lmao
Bet you think that squats are bad for your knees too

Fuck outta here

>deadlifts and squats will fuck up your back

lol anon, not if you do them right, and dont put 100 kg on your first deadlift when u weigh 30 kg because you wanna impress those girls over there.

back support

not sure what else to say beyond that (I use a ball instead of a chair) but amazon reviews have never let me down

terrible advice

Seconding this. I cannot stress how much of a difference getting a good setup has helped me.

I had back pain from sitting on a sofa and repetitive stress epicondylitis in my arm from drawing with my tablet on my lap. I had to wear a brace and my arm would hurt after 30 minutes.

I get a proper desk and a proper chair and suddenly I can draw for hours with no pain whatsoever. I still wear the brace but it's pretty much a formality, I don't really need it 90% of the time. Do not underestimate how vital a good setup is.

really? because I never have back problems and my posture is fucking fantastic
>>

you can also eliminate back problems by just having a chair and desk the proper height for you and then not sitting like a retard
studies from like 2008 already showed exercise balls as chairs have no major benefits over just sitting correctly in a normal office chair
and there's still studies coming out and spinal specialist doctors saying exercise balls as chairs offer no benefits to posture
you intently focused on your posture because you were told the ball would help with that
and then you developed good posture from that
however most people will sit on the ball and then slump like a jackass anyway, just like they would in any normal desk chair
only now their ass hurts in addition to their lower back
an ergonomic office chair is a better choice overall
also just standing up and moving around once in a while gives you the exact same benefits as bouncing on an inflatable ball
exercise balls as chairs are a waste of money

Egoscue exercices and/or yoga, the book is on the piratebay and the videos on youtube they are easy and good

Whatever you do, OP. Do not follow this dude's advice, faggot is trolling 100%

I had constant pain in my back while drawing until I looked up correct posture and started making an effort to use it. Fixed all my back problems. If my back ever starts to hurt, it's always because I fell back into bad posture habits.

I have a super cheap folding metal chair and my desk is literally a picnic table I bought at Wal-Mart, too, so you can do this whatever your setup is.

This is pretty much it.

I also advise dead lifts, and bent over barbell rows. If you can stand up with 600 pounds it is going to take a very long time for the strain of sitting to make a big difference. That being said watch your posture at the desk and under the bar.

Oh shit also working standing helps too. I almost forgot, but I have a standing easel that I use when I am tired of sitting and want to move around.

Yoga is the only thing that has helped my back after i fucked it up.

Lower back and core exercises for lower back pain. Combine that with some light stretching or mobility exercises every hour or so that you're sitting. Don't use weights if you don't want to.

Squats, and various core exercises (planks, crunches, et al) are all you really need.

If you find that your pain gets worse with increased exercise, and that your flexibility gets worse with more stretching, then see a doctor, ESPECIALLY IF THE PAIN GOES DOWN YOUR LEG OR IS CENTERED AT YOUR SI JOINT.
>>
>>3058383
here's something I got from a core workout book
>3 sets of each right before you go to bed
>as many sit ups as you can
>10 seconds of ab twists from american psycho
try to do this with as little rest in between each set as possible. hell, make the ab twists the rest
>>
>>3058383
core workout 100- 200 daily situps
1000 bridges daily (butt lift) exercises
250 - 500 daily squats
5-10k daily or 3 times a week

Don't do sets, do it in one go, sets are stupid and make you mentally weak, make real gains by going through the pain. Your body will thank you later like in 3 weeks.

Side note to make real gains from your exercise, you need to balance out the intake of food you eat with the level of exercise your doing to help replenish nutrients and not let you body eat itself away. Sleep above all else (specifically 8 hours at best, routinely) will also contribute to your gains, since many wonderful things take place during nocturnal emissions such as regulation of your testes. If you sleep naked your HGH goes up and also don't oversleep it will literally counter all your progress, since like sitting too long, standing too long laying on your back too long will fuck up your back specifically your lower back. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3fPOMpqo34E
