Personally i always found that art and music were two sides of the same coin. Why would music be better than art? And why would art be better than music? I doubt there is an objective answer to these. They compliment each other very well anyhow

I'm old school, so painting is but one of the activities called music.

The higher in hierarchy is poetry, because the poet is under the inspiration from a god.

The highest form of art is anime, because even kids can experiment through that crude medium a sublime which wouldn't be accessible to them in its pure form.

It's the definition of Julian Young, Anon, not mine, so it's hardly "new" and is based on his interpretation of Heidegger's work; an evident case of philosophical existentialism. The sublime's meaning has been discussed to death by philosophers for centuries, which is why it's never in vain to precise what particular meaning is intended in a particular discussion.

I personnaly think that philosophers should forge neologism rather than pile up new meanings over existing words, making discussions about them inintelligible, but that's just me.

I think that art is more accessible actually, because you only need to look at a piece to experience it. With music, you need to dedicate more than a few seconds. Same with literature, which takes the most effort.
