I figured. You need to do something about the flat background and the face, for depth, or just about everyone will notice it too.

Also, kindly refer to current NASA helmets. Yours looks like a mix between astronaut and deep-dive atmospheric suit.

the first sip of the day. yeah I agree, the black ruins the image. In general, most painters don't use black. it looks ok here, but you should avoid using it in the future for darks.

I getcha. Haven't had time to work on it today. I like to work dark areas up from black if that makes sense. There's probably an easier way to do it, but prior to a couple months ago all i had really painted were minis so that's the only way i know how to develop dark places.

well you should look up color mixing videos on youtube then. If you keep that mindset, youre not gonna improve at all. You get darks by mixing dark colors... burnt umber + ultramarine blue, burnt umber + etc.(other dark color)
