Once you have some knowledge of construction and anatomy, is it possible to just draw from imagination solely and become better?

Ask N*sebro
>>3050502
yes, but it's slow as fuck
you're observing reality all the time
>>3050502
can you even draw from the imagination? wouldn't you keep remembering images and things you've seen and use those for reference?
>>3050502
yes. but the worse that knowledge is, the longer it'll take you to get good just by using imagination.

how stupid are you, anon?
that's what drawing from imagination is.
you build a visual library and construction knowledge. and when you are good enough, you can draw any pose from any angle without needing an exact reference.

Who?
I think you'll only really get much better if you seek out the mistakes in your art and compare them to reality/better artists if you're going for a certain stylized look.
"Some" knowledge won't be enough: and no one ever has enough knowledge. Not even KJG knows everything about anything.

Are you high? This is art not philosophy.
Yes reference is absolutely important for developing technique and your image bank. But professional illustration is also filled with works from imagination. One of the easiest examples is 50's science fiction cover art. I'm pretty sure didnt exactly fly out to space and construct ellaborate space colonies with purple alien dogs in thebackground.
