I was wondering about art contests lately. Are there any interesting contests going on at the moment or do you guys perhaps know of any sites that list such competitions? It's hard to find anything just with google.

As always the Draw with Jazza Challenge of the Month. This Month is Arty T-Shirts and your design will be sold if you place in the top 3.You get to keep 50% of the revenue too.
Otherwise no idea and I'minterested too.
Also, anything with hardware prices would be great. I've been working on the same wacom for over ten years now and I can't afford a new one.
Artstation is hosting challenges all the time wtf
If you're in school check their job board for opportunities. The art school I attend posts new competitions/calls for art/gigs etc. every week.

Highly encourage people to enter this. Especially the Concept Comic one, because there are so few entries, and most really aren't that good.

If you are entering the Shounen Jump one, I recommend taking a look at the past winners. It gives a nice idea of what they are looking for storywise and artwise. It seems like a lot of the submissions where lacking in story and character, which isn't surprising. Also, for some reason they don't show first place, maybe no one won? Here is the past 2016 contest:

And here is the current one that is still open for submissions.

Do you have to draw manga? Are there an western style labels that do contests like this?

There's only a month left on the Concept Comic one, and while most aren't that great, the couple that are decent would make it pretty hard to make something competitive in the time remaining unless you're already a god at manga making.
