Is there anyway i can make it if i've been born, raised and have no plans of leaving a 3rd world country with no job opportunities for artists?
Should i just try my best and take advantage of the internet age or would it be better to chase after more advanced countries with better job opportunities for artists?
Does it even matter?
>>
Nope.
>>
>>3042855
living in a third world country doesnt make impossible or even unviable becoming a competant/skilled artist
however being genetically a third-worlder does remove the viability to adhere to classical standards and also to create instances of aesthetic beauty or nobility.
tough luck.
>>
>>3042862
Genetically? Seriously?
I'm still gonna do it until i die but, y'know, It's a little discouraging to think it will be for nothing in the end.
>>
>>3042865
potentially possible but nonviable. if you have been surrounded your entire life by people with an average IQ <70 in a culture with zero historical aesthetic achievement then things will be very difficult for you. not even mentioning your own mind.
>>
actually making it as a freelancer is probably more viable because of the low cost of living in a third world country
>>
>>3042855
> Artist in a 3rd world country.

There are alot of 3rd worlders who make a living in art, anon. Just keep on chugging and start thinking critically.
>>
>>3042872
Thanks, you're nice.
>>
>>3042871

True but a motivation should be to move out of whatever shithole you're in, for healthcare reasons alone. You won't always be young and healthy and you might have children someday too, which you probably want to see grow up in a decent environment.
>>
>>3042883
Honestly for me it's not only will my art be good, because if i keep studying and working towards it being better it will improve, but aslo this. Being able to have a chance at competing in the freelance artist market is tough specially if you don't have the right connections and i have economical needs as a human.
I think my best chance is just focusing on mantaining myself well economically and just keep chugging at improving and getting my work seen, if it ever pays up, it pays up. If not, at least i had fun.
>>
>>3042855
Post your work.

Low IQ is a disadvantage but work ethic and philosophy should be your weapon of choice
>>
>>3042855
wow, that hair line
>>
>>3042870
I think you meant culturally rather than genetically

standard and taste can be acquired, it's not something you're born with
>>
>>3042957
genetically your own mind will be hindered, the cultural factors are by far the most relevant ones though.
>>
first worlder, living in vietnam atm. can make it in third world easily (as long as you have the time to get skilled (you do, first worlders work 10x harder)), firstworld is a desolate expensive wasteland (unless you are on 100kUSD/year). seen it heaps, follow your dreams cunt
>>
>>3042970
postscript: use the internet and work for rich cunts int he first world, DO NOT WORK IN THE LOCAL INDUSTRY OR FOR THIRD WORLDERS
>>
Ignoring all the racist idiocy in this thread, the internet will make it a lot easier to get clients from rich countries than it used to be. So if you intend to stay in your home country, and it doesn't have a local art-related industry, seek clients from the united states, canada and europe. Look into Craigslists for large, wealthy cities.

Your biggest problem may be aquiring professional level equipment. Wacom stuff is very expensive in a rich country, I don't want to think how much it costs in a poor country. Still, there's always a way.

Funnily enough, one of the main gripes in the art industry here (particularly animation) is work being outsourced to the third world. So, ironically, it might be easier to find art jobs in a poor country, depending on your particular circumstances.

Genetic has nothing to do with it, shitposter.

It is possible, but it is much harder.
>>
Genetics and IQ has a hell of a lot to do with becoming pro level at art and as much as people would like to deny it, people are just simply on average dumber in third world countries. That doesn't mean everyone is a complete idiot: there's just a hell of a lot of brain drain because everyone smart tries to go somewhere better and it doesn't help that the stupid people breed the most. Seeing as OP is posting here and asking about this, let's assume he got a pretty good deal in terms of what's between his ears.

If you really think you can make it, go ahead. People have made it to the top from the gutter. You live with what you're dealt, so why not even try.
>>
>>3043376
It's not as if malnourishment, lack of good education ,and cultural voids , and the bad habits of a life of extreme poverty in third world countries could affect the average IQ of their populations, am I right?
>>
>>3043385
noonono anon, it is pure genetics.

Also diseases and government has nothing with it.
>>
>>3043008
>facts are racist

Found a retard.
>>
>>3043385
No no anon, that's racist. All people are equal. Oh, sorry, I mean that all people should be 80IQ and ugly like me. Anyone who isn't is clearly cheating and I'm being abused by THE SYSTEM/THE PATRIARCHY/CAPITALISM.

This, holy shit. Third worlders don't even known suffering until you've gone through this.
>>
>>3042855
im in the same boat. i live in a third world country too. not alot of job offers here. So i mostly draw porn commissions for people in other parts of the world. recently ive been making less money from that and im getting a bit scared now.
>>
>>3043550
Can you post any piece of work related to the comissions? Not to prove your statement or something, i am just curious about what you draw
>>
>>3042855
>Born in 3rd world country.
>Got accepted into one of nation's best and cheapest unis.
>Wanted to take art-related courses. "Fuck no", says parents and took engineering instead.
>It's ok I guess. It's common here for parents to fund their children through college but in exchange you'll be their retirement plan.
>Also, since I'm the eldest I'll be funding my younger siblings' education.

Currently 4th year engg. I'm kinda glad I didn't push the art thing. I probably would've spent a lot of money on art materials and have trouble commuting (I always see fine arts/architecture/interior design students carrying a bunch of stuff). Kinda sucks that my art hasn't improved much.
BUT let's say I want to immigrate to a better country cause my country's a shithole. I might not find good job opportunities as a 3rd world engineer unless I have experience working for a good western company. Correct me if I'm wrong but would it be easier to find a job as an immigrant if I have experience as an artist? Especially if I've commissioned for foreign clients?
