Ever notice how most art made by celebrities is dreadful? It's the laziest shit you can find. No knowledge of the fundamentals at all.
It really shows how much harder it is to git gud at drawing/painting than it is most other creative endeavors.
Kate Micucci.
Bob Dylan
Jeff Hardy

Many actors, at least american actors, learned not only acting but also to sing and dance or play the piano. It would make any comparison moot - trained in a thing vs total amateur in drawing.
Also we probably expect less technically because they're mainly supposed to express themselves (muh inner world and creativity) so it's acceptable to be primal because they're artists - maybe we're the only one expecting artists of the 21st century to deliver old school level of stuff.
> Come to think of it, it's probably better not to go full Picasso and learn how to paint like Raphael if the goal is to try to go back to drawing like a kid.
As an example, Die Antwoord.

I would draw Pepe and Wojak everywhere if I had the wall's authorization.
> Brother Nero is a special case. Delete this.
>>3037764
who are you quoting?
>>3037783
I knew you'd come, Brother Nero.
I'm quoting the seven deities, of course. They're speaking to me through lightning and it's brilliant!
>mumble mumble you see when I was making this paaainting mumble mumble I was on absinthe in my moms basement mumble mumble wearing her lingerie mumble mumble it really reminds me of my grandpa mumble mumble I really respect the craft of painting mumble mumble did I mention I CUMMED in the paint before using it? mumble mumble *plays with a knife*
>>3037695
It's like selling art is a matter of good branding or something.
>>3037695
maybe because its just a hobby for them. did you even consider this u dense cunt?
>>3037823
Doesn't mean it isn't straight trash.
>>3037837
I agree, now post the best work you've ever created
>>3037839
merc_wip.jpeg
but seriously it's anoying and a slap in the face to see famous actresses or musicians waxing about their shitty paintings in an interview or something and someones fawning over it just because they made it. can't you see that?
Terry Crews is pretty gud
>>3037846
somebody's been studying their fundies boyyyyyyy
>>3037837
Won't show my "best ever", but I was messing around with that yesterday. What's the point? Does it make their "art" and less shit?
>>3037846
This is another reason for me to like Terry Crews.
Anthony Hopkins
George W. Bush

something about bush's paintings make me like them a lot.
>>3037846
dat realism tho
>>3037874
I mean if he studies he's got potential.
>>3037846
Terry crews was a professional artist before he became an athlete
It's almost like they spend more time acting than drawing or something.
>people who aren't painters don't paint as well as painters
>in other news: a german institute's research shows car mechanics can't sing or dance that well
>>3037846
Terry Crews is one of those very rare people that is good at everything. He has literally succeeded at everything he's pursued. Wanted to be an artist? Became a professional artist. Wanted to be an athlete? Became a fucking football player. Wanted to delve into acting? Became a god damn movie star.
It's not even fair how good this dude is at life.
>>3037697
So, what's up with her, in your opinion?
Was she a lolsoquirky person in the first place? Did her agents tell her to act like this?
I mean, look at this piece. It's a perfect representation of her personality and character, so perfect in fact that it ends up looking like a stereotype. Is this the hidden meaning of this piece? A rationalization and aestheticization of her fake, made-up public personality?
Because in that case it's extremely good.
Jack Kevorkian

>>3037846

I'm pretty sure he was a courtroom sketch artist.
>>3037853
Complete shit tier art. Lrn 2 draw faggot. God even the manson one looks better
>>3039029
courtroom sketch artists are about as talented as police sketch artists, and I'd like to know if there's more to that kimmel quote (was it just the one trial in Flint? Was he still in high school? Not really a profession if so)
still, apparently he's designing furniture now, so I'm not arguing the guy isn't multi-talented.
>>3039031
>not using courtrooms as a place to study the figure
I find courtrooms a great place to draw because people are sitting still for extended periods of time

Who do you think is more accomplished Terry Crews or Arnold?
Arnold was mr univserse, held political office, married a Kennedy, and also killed a predator.
>>3037869

Her website looks exactly like how you'd think. Seriously, think of what font you think she used and go check.
>>3037853
You are right in your post op, but this is garbage
Do you expect them to be world class at multiple things? They're humans. Not everyone can be a renaissance man.
>>3040049
...I can kind of confirm /nofap/ to be a real thing.
I have gotten more shit done in the past week than in the past month all because I didn't touch my no-no. I haven't had the desire to do so, either.
>>3037695
Also he is a total fag.
>>3039817
>killed a predator
here you have your answer
>>3041586
Who said anything about world class? You don't have to be on Michael Phelps level to say you're a swimmer.
>>3041381
fuck that long font whatever its called
>>3041650
Their craft is acting. Of course they're going to be hobby tier at drawing.
>>3037870
you know it doesn't look so bad till your realize that's his FUCKING EYE
>>3037695
It's not just art by celebrities, but art in general.
If you want technically well made art, you have to resort to commercial artists.
>>3037697
She has a bachelors in studio art. I wonder if she literally drew stick figures for half a decade until they handed her a degree.
>>3042125
An art degree doesn't really mean anything. I've come across a lot of people with art degrees who are just as bad as complete beginners.
Yeah but you idiots act like drawing a single manga illustration is any better.
Just so you know a typical single manga book consists of 100's of well drawn manga illustrations.
You idiots take forever to do one drawing that you put on your stupid deviant art accounts.
Your opinions don't really matter as you are even worse than most celebrities.
>>3042147
Calm down, Jace. It's not like your art is particularly innovative.
>>3037697
This is actually really nice style.
Tony Bennett's stuff is pretty good.
>>3044585
Ditto on Tony Bennett.
