So CSP is so much better than photoshop.
What are the must have brushes?

I find CSP better for inking work, like comic lines, mimicing a real fountain pen etc. But for painting it's not really better than photoshop. I have trouble getting results the same as in photoshop with csp though I believe its entirely possible. I still can get decent results with it.

As for brushes I haven't found a special one or set that really helps. I think I might have even used just the g-pen with opacity.

Airbrush is a helpful brush in any art program. I'd say the basics are probably good enough, because I can't even remember what I use when I do paint in there even though I finished a sci-fi environ just a few months ago with it.

there are some called "daub" or something, theyre on cgp, idk if theyre must have but theyre pretty nice
>>
I can ink in Photoshop just fine.

Why does everyone say that CSP, SAI, Painter, Krita, etc all have better inking capabilities?
>>
>>3027946
I'm really happy with how CSP works on my SP4. I'm finally starting to git gud at digital painting, but I've really only been using the soft round brush. Are there any must have brushes that give a painterly look?

If possible I don't want it to be too obvious what brush it is that I've used, if that makes sense. i.e. I don't really want people looking at my work and immediately thinking 'oh he's used THAT brush'
>>
can't find CSP on piratebay / rarbg, does anybody know where i can find it ?
(no I won't buy it without trying the full thing)

CSP is just another name for Manga Studio, try searching that. If you have a CGPeers I know it's on that

Photoshop just feels clunky as fuck for me, like it's running at 15 FPS, where as manga studio / CSP is more lightweight and runs at 60 FPS, also it has stabilization. In general the brushes are much smoother and realistic as well.
>>
>>3028509
It's a combination of the brush shape and the stabilizer engine that makes inking well both a little faster, and look real.

I can get the same results with a custom brush in Procreate, or probably one of the Painter brushes, if I wanted to, but it would take me much longer without the stabiliser.

I don't know, perhaps Painter has a good stabiliser now. I haven't used anything past version 12.

Photoshop is probably the same - if you get a decent brush that mimics an inking pen perfectly, you just need to take way longer to get the same results without a stabiliser. Unless the latest photoshop has one, I don't remember.

Last time I had a subscript was a year or two ago.

Oh yah, Akirel this is ThreadArtist.

Also, Sai doesn't necessarily have better inking in that its brush isn't as good looking, but it has the stabiliser with multiple settings.

Krita definitely doesn't have better inking capabilities, though its fantastic for painting from what I've experienced.

There I think I covered every program you mentioned now.

Here are some examples. I have no photoshop examples because I never used it for inking due to having the better programs suited to it. Same goes for Krita.

The first drawing is old so its wobbly, the second one is a copy practice and took a long time that's why its tighter, the third is from my own comic - it's not as high resolution as the copy practice one, and it was colored and fixed up for a cover later on, and the fourth one you know.

The fourth one is also higher resolution, just shrunk down.

Most of the drawings were done in different years, so some might be older than others.

What Clip Studio Paint brush mimics Hi-Tec-C Gel pens?
>>
>>3027984
Daub sucks. Frenden brushes are much better IMO
>>
>>3027946
make your own brushes.
>>
>>3029119
just get the trial???
>>
>>3028509

Photoshop's brush engine does not handle tapering well. It's very hard to make crisp inked lines with a sharp and attractive taper in PS.

bump, sorry if silly question

That 9`s aesthetics makes me happy
>>
>>3029136
The drawings I did in your thread were done in Photoshop. Works for me.

what makes frenden better?

Just curious
