Corel Painter has been nice to me. I just wish I that I could figure out dabbing profiles or whatever to do more fun stuff with detail-oriented texture brushes like you can do easily in Photoshop.

Also the scratchboard tool has this annoying initial dab where it's calculating vector that leaves like a dint in the beginning and end of the stroke, is that just me?

nah, you have to work around that

then weeaboos are destined to rule the future of art.

SAI's magic wand is godly though. Wish CSP had it.

>Superman sucks at math

1 pound = 0.0625 ounce. So 10 pounds is (10/0.0625) 160 ounces. 20 beans per ounce means that we got a total of 3200 beans, not 32000.

He probably wouldn't had fucked up like that if he had just used the metric system.

Feels so fucking good to use Clip Studio Paint. I actually jumped from SAI to CSP yesterday, and it's miles better.
>>
>>3026126
The only one I know how to use: Photoshop.
>>
>>3026126

I eat ass so I'm using FireAlpaca
>>
>>3026126
I had SAI and cs6 for years. Mainly using Sai.

I just got Clip Studio Paint last week. I think its literally the perfect drawing program. Its as powerful as photoshop but made specifically for drawing and painting.
>>
Medi bang :/
>>
>>3026126
Sai is literally garbage and if you use sai i assume you're either super poor or a 15 year old girl from tumblr.

Going to art school and seeing all the young tumblr artists there so UNWILLING to try any other program, even in a class who's sole purpose was learning another program, was kind of disgusting. Tons of fake trannies too.

artrage is a good trad simulator, just to shout them out

i use photoshop mainly but i'm not happy with it, trying out manga studio, or whatever it's called now, seems better

i wish i could use painter though, for the 5 minutes i get to use it before it crashes it seems perfect

I personally tried quite a few different pieces of software to get a feel what works best for me.

My observations:

- Photoshop is okay, but the amount of available brushes can be detrimental for beginners, as they get the feeling they need special brushes to become good artists. It's also not the lightest in regards to hardware use, and sometimes a bit sluggish in large canvas sizes.
It's also hard(er) to achieve a look other than the typical digital painting look, (simulating water-colors and oil is really hard)

- Firealpaca is a great free tool for lightweight sketching and comics. It doesn't have a lot of depth in its brush settings, but it does have great default brushes for cutesy/cartoon styled drawings. Sadly it also gets a bit unresponsive when large brushes are used.

- Krita: without a doubt the most powerful brush engine of all software I have ever tried, you can fiddle with so many settings and create just the type of brush you want, or even brushes that are plain and simple impossible in other programs. It also works quite well with large canvas sizes.
One of the biggest cons for Krita is that the default brushes are really bad. There is no good brush that can simply be used for all types of scenarios, setting up your own brushes (or finding some good ones online) is a must.

- artrage studio pro: cannot recommend

- clip studio paint: haven't tried it for very long yet, but I like it very much so far. It handles decently sized canvases quite nicely, and has without a doubt the best default brushes for a variety of painting styles. Especially the oil paint brushes are fun to use.

I haven't had the chance to use SAI, so I can't talk about that piece of software yet.

Krita one love.

Paintstorm studio fine too, basically like SAI but with 100x better brush engine.

PS have neat features but some incredibly stupid UI decisions and limited hotkeys make it unusable.

Sai if I want to get into something quick. CSP if I want comic inks that look good. And procreate because you have almost no choice on ipad. Sometimes adobe draw, as it's pretty good for ainking on ipad.

I'm an inking kind of person. If I digi paint I use clip studio these days, but I've also used photoshop in the past and its probably still the best for that with few exceptions being equal.

I've tried Krita for painting and it does seem pretty darn good but it glitches on windows with certain video cards. You don't get the same problem in Linux but I don't want to fire up linux just to use one program.
>>
Paintstorm pro on the ipad
>>
MediBang. I like the cloud feature because I've got like 2 or 3 different devices I use with it.
>>
>>3027709
It's quite good, lots of strong artists use it. My tip would be spend a good amount of time playing with the UI until you're comfortable with it. You can customize it a lot so I'd advise doing it to make life easier on yourself. Easy access to pens, colors, layers etc. It's a little weird vanilla setup.

Also, spend some time checking out the different pen tools. Chalk etc are very useful
>>
I have CS6 PORTABLE on my computer but it runs too slow.
So I'm stuck with SAI and MSPAINT.
>>
>>3026244
Firealpaca, Krita, and Medibang off the top of my head. Also the sorta legal version of Photoshop CS4
