It's time, /ic/.
Post your Stravinsky's
>>3019554
Ha, that's pretty cool. Can I have that image for redistribution?
>>3019561
It's yours friend, save it all you like.
Stravinsky challenge? Explain
>>3019567
I think it means you draw the above image upside down
>>3019567
Picasso's thing where he referenced a photo upside down and drew them that way to help fight symbol drawing.
Honestly probably the best thing Picasso has come up with.
>>3019567
Want to know how I can tell you haven't read the sticky? Draw this fucking guy upside down and NO CHEATING.
>>3019570
do it on paper
>>3019554
Did I do it right?
>>3019570
Im on a piece of shit app that doesnt show sticked topics. Forgive my ignorance
>>3019554
I fucked up and started drawing it way too low on the page, so the last bit of legs got cut off
>tfw can copy the drawing near perfectly without even turning it upside down
Feels good to have sharp eyes and excellent observational skills
>>3020037
Lol that fucking expression
good?
>>3019554
Did this back in February when I started drawing.
I did better than most everyone in this post on my second week drawing but I still suck major dick and draw worse than ONE. Guess I'm just good at copying things upside down.
>>3020037
shouldn't we be doing this with a real ref
copying picasso's drawing kinda defeats the purpose
>>3020560
nevermind i'm retarded, just looked at the original exercise in the book
>>3020560
am i suppose to draw it upside down or should i flip it and draw it? I dont get it really.
>>3021072
Flip the Stravinsky reference upside down and then draw it like that. It helps you overcome drawing what you see and rather drawing what is there.
>>3019554
I love you OP.
>stravinsky
>not anime screenshots like the glorious nipponese do
*shakes my head*
>>3019581
Not at all.
Also clean up your lines.
>>3021661
Why? Clean lines make a drawing look too sterile.
why is there no merc_wip version
>>3021727
What if you're just lazy?
>>3021727
Messy lines are, to me, a pretty good indicator that the artist doesn't know where to draw the line, so he/she makes a few good guesses and goes on from there. While its a great trick to get you started, there should be a point where you decide where the 'real' lines should be so you can clean it up. As a finished project it doesn't look good at all.
You can get a better effect through shading and multiple sizing your lines.
First drawing.
The head is fucked up, don't know how I didn't notice the dent in it.
>>3021727
Only if you can't use them right.
Now do you want to learn your craft or hide from it, answer that for yourself.
>>3021751
Why did you draw the lapel of his jacket buttoned into his vest? It makes no sense.
>>3019554
Rate this boys.
>>3022433
6.125/10
Sounds fun, gave it a try.
Here you go fampai
>>3019554
Note that I just got into drawing
>>3019653
read keys to drawing, the guy talks about this issue like 1/3rd in
>>3021727
only if there's no sense of lineweight or if it's been traced
thinking that chickenscratch looks good is hella indicative of novices
I realized that my proportions were getting out of whack so I pressed on into uncharted territory. Not as bad as I was expecting.
>>3021751
And your cleaned up version of his sketch gives off a different vibe. His sketch is more menacing, IMO. Yours doesn't have that feel.
>>3028085
His lines were too messy for me to see that.
howd i do
>>3020393
underrated
