>tfw not pen tablet
>tfw drawing using a mouse
ive used a mouse all my life, pretty proficient at it. just have it at low sensitivity, i can change it on the fly with my mouse. would like to try a pad though, would be nice with pressure sensitivity
>>3008441
no, why?
>>3008429
why not just buy one? you can be so much more efficient for just $20
>>3008455
my pen tablet broke last week, fuck genius.
>>3008429
Ive seen a few people draw well with their mouse. Its like magic. I'll stick with my pen/paper and tablet though.
About tablets. What are good art tablets and around how much would they cost?
>>3008429
>>3008431
What the fuck you poor ass niggers get a job and get a damn tablet. You can literally get one as cheap as $50. Working with a mouse is fucking retarded have fun with your carpel tunnel, you'll never achieve good art if you have no reading for sensitivity and it takes you 6 hours to make one flat thing.
>>3009885
Good ones go for about $120 or more, outdated ones about $100 or less
>>3009885
go through the archive, there's a lot of different types depending on what you need and how you draw, some have a "natural surface" but it will grind your pen's nibs, some are slick, different sizes and sensitivities.
If money is no object, go with Wacom who has basically owned the market until recently. If you're not trying to break the bank, go with Huion or even Monoprice just get something, make commission, and buy a new one.
>>3008429
So what?
I colored this with a mouse.
>>3011075
but did you DRAW it with a mouse?
>>3011086
You know mouses have buttons that are literal built in stabilizers for FPS games, right?
>>3011091
that's not really answering the question
Remember when Oekakis were popular and there were a shit ton of artists doing amazing work with just a mouse? It can be done obviously, but tablets cost $20-$30 now. I would just skip the learning curve of a mouse and get a tablet.
>>3011155
>oekakis
That reminds me:
What' the difference between /i/ and /ic/?
>>3011163
/i/ is deviantart. It's literally all kids that draw for "fun"
I draw to refine my skills
I draw to achieve inner strength
I draw to expose the truth
I draw to build honor
I draw to grasp power
only a fool draws for "fun"
>>3011168
>*tips fedora*
Every good pro is a good pro because he has passion for the game and you need to have fun while playing to have passion
Only a retard spends his life drawing boxes and studying all day instead of doing something he enjoys, specially when the essence of art is to create something new
>>3011962
>*tips fedora*
Instantly disqualified.
If you always draw for fun, nobody will look at your work for fun..
>>3011977
protip: kjg has been drawing for fun for atleast 20 years now
>>3011979
>protip
I doubt you're a pro.
I mean, some people think watching paint dry is fun. If you're going to make this argument..
>>3011982
Hold up, are you implying drawing isn't the most fun with a pencil you can have?
>>3011984
What I mean is, between drawing what you want and drawing what you need to improve, one is clearly more fun.
>>3011984
Oh and about fun with a pencil, I think most of Loomis excercises were a real borefest.
>>3011149
Look at this cool guy.
>>3011149
Craig Mullins circa 1999 is that you?
>>3012173
im using a track pad op dont complain
just buy a genius if you are so broke
I also recommend just buying a regular tablet and getting a nice stylus. I have a $50 Kindle fire that I draw on. Really nice art programs that rival computer ones for tablets now.
I don't have enough space on my desk for a tablet
>>3009909
the $50 ones have no screen nigger.
>>3012539
That makes them better since your hand doesn't cover the screen,
share your trackpad/mouse artwork my poor niggers
>>3012545
Is that King Koopa from Super Mario Bros? Man, that brings me back.
>>3012549
yeah from memory
>>3012539
About 50% of professional artists work with a Wacom without a screen. Dave Rapoza, Brad Rigney, James Zapata, Sinix... I could go on and on. I've been broke as fuck for years but I could still put together ~100€ for a tablet. If you live in a 1'st world country there really is no excuse.
i used to draw with a mouse from 2013 to 2017 march.
i just got a tablet, heres some drawings
>>3012560
more mouse
>>3012563
all you have to do is find the right speed, where you can quickly doodle and make a clean line
>>3008429
anyway good luck my mouse buddy
>>3012563
YEAOH JUSUKE
>>3012560
>>3012563
>>3012570
Dude... This stuff isn't good. I understand if you haven't been practicing a lot during the 3 years you've been doing this but if you're trying to make a point about mouse being "OK" you're not really doing a good job...
Only thing I might suggest for you mouse dudes is doing sketching in Alchemy. It's pretty easy to get some nice shapes there even without the fidelity of a tablet. Just my 2 cents...
>>3011168
"Not drawing for fun" and "Not gonna make it" are probably the two biggest jokes on /ic/. Nice job, by the way, I see you really put some energy into trying to express your autism so clearly.
>>3012582
baited
>>3012578
they're just doodles man
and its better than not drawing at all atleast he can practice and once he gets a tablet he'll know already what to do
>>3012617
Yeah, I wasn't trying to be mean or anything. I just think that it could be time spent practicing with pen and paper which is 10 times more productive IMO.
You're just learning bad habits if you're working with just a mouse. You want confident strokes right on the first try (brush economy) so shit doesn't look messy etc. which it always does if you're using a mouse. Obviously it's good to learn Photoshop etc. but you don't seem to be using any good Photoshop features in your doodles so what's the point?
>>3012627
uhhhhhh
i draw on a program thats for drawing with friends and yeah pen and paper is good too, but i like showing my friends dumb drawings i make
if he's gonna draw on photoshop then it would probably look alot better
plus alot of drawing programs have stabilizers, so that can dispel the confident strokes thing
n yeh... im not using photoshop
>>3012643
This dialogue encapsulates shitty (particularly Western) cringeworthy cartoon porn dialogue
>>3012643
Okay. You do you... I still think that it's a waste of time if you're actually trying to get to professional level. If you're just out to have fun I guess it's okay.
I'm still gonna say that there's really no good reason to learn to paint with a mouse IF there's even a small chance of being able to get one of these tablets. I know Craig Mullins did it with a mouse for years but he was all ready a great artist when he started and pen tablet technology wasn't there yet so this wouldn't apply to 99% of the guys in /ic/.
>>3008429
nigga just grab a pencil and paper until your NEET ass makes enough money to buy a tablet
>>3012643
STOP CHICKEN SCRATCHING REEEEEE
>>3011086
Sketch one then scan it
this is what im drawing atm, a bit fucky but i think it works fine with just mouse. thinking of buying a tablet though, will probably speed things up
>>3008429
>Tfw using expensive tablet as mouse pad
>>3012643
>>3012654 (You)
Oh and yeah just to add to my point... This was how I used to work. I'd draw my shit with pencil and paint over it in Photoshop. I still used a one of those really shitty old Wacoms you can get for 10 bucks now but I still think that doing this stuff with pen and paper was more useful for me at least.
This piece is about 4 years old and it's not even in my portfolio any more but yeahh... Just thought it might help. If you can get a 10€/$ tablet it's still going to be a ways better than using a mouse imo.
>>3011977
This
/ic/ is stupidly retarded about art itself, they just keep jerking off to muh techinical skill and forget to fucking draw because you love drawing
