He's cool though, his drawings really give you an insight into what it's like to fully utilize knowledge of anatomy.
Loomis is more well-rounded, easier to understand and less chaotic, so know what you're picking for your study and approach it as such.

In one way or another you're going to end up thinking about anatomy the way he taught it, with simplified masses. You might as well give his books a once over, but a beginner wouldn't have any idea what to do with it as opposed to Loomis' straight forward lessons.
