for /aco/, maybe not make your own thread but looking at their info and just emailing your favorite sounds good
or just asking in the thread (maybe the next one since the lastest hit bump limit)

a stylized OC concept sketch can easily be done here too. some in the promotion threads are taking commissions. some will just ask for email here. and you can check out the alt style thread for some idea on what you can get.
