Is there anything creepier then Gammells style?
apart from sycra? no
how the fuck did he make this shit
>>2992499
I always thought it was ink but I've heard people say it's graphite/charcoal and eraser. Amazing stuff either way
I like francis bacon
There is one painter that I can't remember his name. There's one painting of a fat white pasty zombie with a weird shaped head and I remember he'd put the number 5, or something on their foreheads. Anybody have any idea who that is?
>>2992556
Never mind. I found him. It was Chet Zar
>>2992478
How about a Polish surrealist whose brother committed suicide a year after his wife died and just before he finds his own sons body, spiraling into schizophrenia until a sweet release in form of 17 stab wounds finds him a few years later, just because he refused to lend some faggot a hundred dollars?
It's just a personal preference, but I find Gammell's work cartoony after browsing me some Beksinski.

THOSE FUCKERS
They changed the art in the books
>>2992635
these are cool but they're a little too on the nose for me to be freaked out by them. they just look like paintings.
>>2992670
yeah. can't have scary stories be too scary!
Can I get some feedback on this?
Trying to use unsettling shifts in light and level of detail.
>>2992693
honestly it just looks like an unfinished painting
i cant tell what that is.
>>2992693
Values and edges, it all comes back to values and edges.
Reference Benjamin Bjorklund.
>>2992635
>aw hell yeah dude so metal
>beksinski got stabbed thats so fuckin rad
>yo he was so fucked up dude that's so fucking awesome
>yo his work is so fuckin fucked up like he musta done so many drugs woah dude
is any artist more of a meme than beksinski? honestly.
I like Junji Ito's work. It is quite hard to make anything look serious in the manga style but I still get the eerie feeling, may be it is the stories that are actually good
>>2992796
The stories are good but he can draw the hottest sameface babes and scary things in the same style.
>>2992796
It's a bit of both I think. Creepy drawings and his stories there's always something creeping up/pursuing the main character.
>>2992799
Oh yes he can
>>2992796
I love Ito but I've never really found his work, I'm not sure what the right word is. Upsetting?
Even at his most disturbing his art always has some beauty to it.
For something to be creepy (to me) I should have an avoidance to it, I shouldn't want to look at it.
>>2992730
Definitely, thanks. Also Adrian Ghenie, Justin Mortimer and Phil Hale have similarly gut-wrenching styles for anyone interested. If only I could be so incandescently gross...
I also think claymation is intriguingly creepy, especially videogames made using it. The different lighting of the different game elements really stuck with me as a measure of creepiness, even if it's not intentional. I think The Neverhood did a fantastic job of embracing the inherent creepiness of claymation while keeping it under control in favor of comedy. Horror and humor really are two sides of the same coin.

Giger.
>>2992989
Giger has a unique style though
>>2992995
and Bikini Coleslaw doesn't?
Giger's style = flat, monotone, and done with airbrush which is a shit medium. but duuude tits, dicks, and skulls, bruh. so dark, bruh.
That said, Alien is maybe my favorite movie and I wouldn't mind having one of Giger's bone chairs.
>>2992478
It's symbol drawing that lacks fundamentals.
>>2993272
This could be from a movie where the aborted fetus comes back for revenge.
Beksinski is pretty spooky
>>2993871
I am groot
>>2992478
waking up one day making his ugly style without trying....
I remember some painting being posted here some time ago of an empty room with doors open in which there was no straight view of what was beyond these doors (they were obstructed or out of sight in the frame), there were other things posted in similar fashion, but that one stood out. It actually unnerved me like no other painting/drawing did before. Can't remember the artist and don't have the image at hand.
>>2993842
>imply it's purpose
>>2993020
no honestly he doesn't from my point of view.his work looks like it belongs on a cradle of filth album cover.
>>2992900
yeah but im still not seeing any form. the lighting alone doesnt make your slug scary.
idk
>>2992635
I dont care about his edgy background story, his art doesn't do it for me.
jeffr tho>>>>>
>>2994843
It's supposed to be scary but it looks like the fucking snowthing from the stop motion rudolph movies

>>2998475
Masterbaiting right there...
>>3001625
The obscure creepy tone to it- something I would love to incorporate in my list of projects to do.
>>2992478
I vaguely remember this one artist who drew sort of industrialish worlds and tunnels but entirely covered in red and with a very creepy feel can't for the life of me remember his name. can anyone help a nigga out?
