no relevant pic but FUCK the people that go into art stores and mangle the tips of alcohol markers and then just put them back
>>
>>2987790
you know i went into an office max and saw someone had opened some markers i pointed this out to them and they checked the box contents but none of them were missing.... i bet thats what they were doing with them.
>>
>>2987755
What's wrong with that?
>>
>>2987758
what tablet is that?
>>
>>2987879
It's not a tablet, it's a Cintiq. If you watch her videos, her iMac on her desk is covered in those fucking things, too.
>>
>>2987790
It's not just art stores. I've had to wade through opened boxes in ever store, these days, people just rip them open for no reason, or to steal something. I talked to a woman at Target who worked there, I was trying to find a belt for a vacuum cleaner, but they were out of stock, she showed me that all of the models that uses that belt had the box ripped open and the spare belt stolen. I don't buy open box ANYTHING.

What I hate seeing is people running their grubby, dirty, oily hands over new paper in the store. When I buy loose sheets of paper, or illustration board, I pull from the bottom of the stack, for that reason. I don't know how many times I'd buy illustration board, and it would have a stain right in the fucking middle from that. I've seen people open paint tubes, mangle brushes, sneeze over blank paper, Or pencils that were dropped and bent in the store, and the graphite is shattered. - that's why I LOVE ordering online now.

She put meme stickers all over hundreds worth of equipment which she uses to do cartoons? I'm going to kill myself
>>
>>2988014
>>2987890

again, whats wrong with that?
>>
>>2988020
I kinda agree, anon, in a sense that people can do what they want with their own equipment. Although it's still an equivalent of drawing over expensive wallpapers with crayons. Like yeah, nobody's stopping you... But it makes you look like a child who cannot appreciate valuable things and shouldn't be trusted with them.
>>
>>2988049
but an expensive wallpaper IS decor, so messing with it definitely devalues and ruins its aethetics.

however a cintiq is a drawing tool and decorating it doesn't ruin its function. its just stickers on a piece of plastic. it may be of poor taste but nothing to get rustled over
>>
>>2988052

It isn't just a tool for some. I know people who got Cintiq because it's a symbol of status of sorts, or because it looks and feels exquisite (quoting them). An expensive car is also just a tool, but most would cringe a little if they saw a Lamborghini with some doodles spray painted on it. Idk man, I wouldn't necessarily get my jimmies rustled over this stuff, but I'd definitely think the owner is autistic.
>>
>>2987758
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
>>
>>2987755

I get triggered when people ask me to draw them and then start criticizing the result, telling me how I should have done it. Bitch, I know I'm still shit at drawing, but you're the one who asked to draw you, and I did. For FREE. Beggars can't be choosers, either take whatever shit I've scribbled and shut up or don't ask at all. Thankfully most people are decent enough to be nice about it even if the result isn't amazing.
>>
>>2988118
Samefagging here, wanted to add that I actually love receiving critique from other artists. It's just the entitlement that triggers me.
>>
>>2988052
I own a 22HD and this really bothers me.
The thing is that a cintiq heats up and those stickers will turn gooby and melt. We don't wear those smudge gloves to look cool, the device actually heats up and makes your hand all sweaty. So not only is her gross sweat gonna be on there but now melted animu sticker. I bet it will feel oily and sticky within a year.
>>
>>2987899
?
>>
>>2988052
arent those stickers getting in the way of her hand when she draws?
>>
>>2988014
Thousands. Thousands of dollars.
>>
>>2988020
Because it shows a lack of respect for her tools. I judge people for that, and fuck you if you have a problem with that.

It's exactly the same as if someone spent hundreds of dollars on really good oil brushes, and destroyed them and left them laying all over with dried pain in there, or if you squeeze out half a tube of paint onto a palette and let it dry out without using it.

If you don't respect your tools, I don't respect you, as an artist. If I ran across a sticker covered cintiq in the world, like at a job, I wouldn't say anything, but I would definitely think the user is a child, and treat them appropriately.
>>
>>2988772
you're super weird you know
>>
>>2988772

>Because it shows a lack of respect for her tools.

It's a fucking tablet, not a religious icon. Someone personalizing their shit is an indicator they care about it.

>but I would definitely think the user is a child, and treat them appropriately.

You know what that's called?
Childish.
>>
>temporary decoration
>whows laxk of respect toward tool
>is comparable to destroying tools and paint
What is wrong with you guys? It's childish but if anything I feel like she'd take better care of her tablet. If she didn't m all the stickers would look like crap.
>>
>>2988783
>Reply
You don't get it, that's fine, because you will never be more than just another anonymous cunt on the internet.

And if your cintiq or tablet is covered in stickers, which I suspect is the reality, you're a child, too. And I don't waste time arguing with children.

Have a day.

Nope, I didn't even realize it was a thing before this thread. I just don't get my nuts twisted if someone else puts shit on their own property or treats it with """disrespect""".

Get your autism under control and realize it's a fucking tablet, not Jesus' foreskin. You're an overgrown baby if someone putting stickers on a drawing device triggers you hard enough to behave condescendingly to them. Now go anoint your shitty tablet with holy water, just remember it won't make you any better of an artist.

LOL.

>>
>>2987755
people praising Loomis trigger me. Loomis is great ok but most of the people here on /ic/ just think that the way they are learning is the only and good way to learn.
Most of the people here (I'm talking about my personal experience, sorry if you're not like this) don't have in mind that art is free, there is no obligation, no reasons to say "oh god you're lame because I don't like what you're doing/you're not doing like me/I don't understand what you're doing"
This is the biggest sin in art for me, since Duchamp we are free to do shit, but talking shit about art we don't like is stupid; it's okay to have your own taste but don't be a shithead with other people if they're not the same.

dude putting stickers on a tablet doesn't mean lack of respect. For this artist, this means that they are trying to personalize it and make this tool their's. This is actually them treating it with care and love and respect.

Wow, it's almost as if there's various ways to show certain feelings. I personally don't do it myself but you can obviously tell they do it for a good reason.

i dont get this. Even if he is tracing, he is still a damn good tracing artist. Most marvel/DC comics are all created as labor work, one creates lines, one creates color, and another creates text and so on, so of course the spirit dies, but its a job like everything else.

Would like to see any of you fags trace an image and still make it look good. To be honest i think i would have a harder time tracing organic objects than just drawing them from shapes.

Off topic quick question:

Whats the easiest way to get oils and/or grease off a tablet screen without damaging it?

I didnt do anything too serious, just fucked up my glove one day and didnt notice until i was using it a bit and the spot on the screens been not quite as "grippy" as the rest. Not like, to a degree where its not possible to work with, just slightly annoying.

While his figure drawing may not have the technical level of the likes of loomis, proko or some Russian realist artist, he is also not bound by references either
