Fuck this. Which is a nice notebook to draw on Photoshop and animate in ToomBoom? Maybe even use After Effect.

Laptops are shit for anything creatively demanding. Always buy a desktop.

if people did it in the early 2 thousands, than a laptop these days can, it might be hard, but still doable. a laptop with HD 5000 built in graphics card family shit and about 4-8 gigs of ram should be ok to do most shit, as long as you don't plan on working on a michael bay film.

Nigga, I have been practicing and doing comissions for 3 years in a notebook. It's fine; and had the advantage that I can carry it around.

>rendering anything in a timely fashion with a laptop
Provided you get something with enough ram and an actual, not low-power, quad core i7, you could. But then don't expect to have acceptable battery life. Just build a PC.

>always buy i5 or i7 (depending on how much battery you want on this thing

>now the RAM and HDD inside is not important but make sure it is upgradeable, I got a laptop with 8gb and 500gb HDD and swapped it for 16GB RAM and 256 SSD and it made a huge difference in performance

make sure it has a good quality screen

This. I've been working for 5 years exclusively in PS on a Samsung Slate tablet PC.

Laughably untrue. I've been working professionally on laptops for years. At home, i have two laptops on my desk - a Macbook Pro with retina hooked up to a big screen for layout and general work and youtube and whatever, and an i7 Asus laptop that's for gaming and my Cintiq. I can use the Cintiq on both fine, but I'm doing too much with the Macbook as it is. Everything is stored on a network drive, so I can work on the same files on both. The only issue I have is having the same fonts on both machines.

I know professional creatives in every field, and almost all of them are using laptops, unless they're doing heavy lifting like rendering video or 3D. Photoshop will run fine on a laptop, as long as you have an i7, and at least 16 gigs of ram, a decent video card, and a decent scratch disk.

Laptops have power cords, as an FYI.

Dell XPS 15 with 4K display option seems good if you're not planning on gaming on its meager GTX 1050 4GB. The display covers like 98% of Adobe RGB I think, and the GPU should be good enough for GPU acceleration in video editing or even some tasks in photoshop.

Or you could build a Ryzen pc :^)
