Put a flashlight under your hand and youll see the effect hes using. Light shines through your skin making it a kind of reddish glow. Now, its another question as to what his light source is thats creating this strong effect. My guess is that its just a meme effect intended only to create a visually pleasing render.

sure, the style owls are painted in could be inspired from the other pic as owls normally dont look like that with the swirl at the beak, there are usually feathers pointing outwards, which isnt as aesthetically pleasing. not a ripoff in my eyes though

You can see that she actualy emmits light at the inside of her hood.

It's not exactly a rip-off. However, the fact that the owls look almost the same as the ones on the right makes it way too obvious where the artist's inspiration may have originated from. The completely nonsensical lighting (is her head and neck hollow and glowing like a jack-o-lantern?) and choice of subject matter also just show how much of an unoriginal hack this artist is. Just stick a pretty girl in anything and it will get likes and reblogs!
