So I've been wondering how inking for comic books was done before computers. Like specifically, was inking done over the original penciled pages? What if the inker had an accident and ruined the page? Can any of you guys explain this to me? Sorry I'm dumb
>how was inking done before computers
are you actually 14
>What is a lightbox
Enjoy your spoonfeeding OP, have a nice day.
depends on the epoch, creators and published but most inkers traced the original pencils and then inked but there was still plenty of people who inked over the pencils.

oh god, is that from miura ? is he finally back ?
>How is inke formed? How is inke formed? How paige get inked?
Digital dumbing down more than just people's abilities I see
To answer your question OP. most artists inked straight onto original pencils, or a print of the pencils. If they fucked up they used white ink or a paste-over to correct
Analog inking is not as hard as you make it out to be, but it does take time to learn (as with anything). If you want some good reference, pick up one of the IDW Artist Editions that collect and reprint mostly silver age comic book art at the original scale and without any clean ups in post
