Just use the texture setting in your brushes. This guy's literally charging you money for checking on a photoshop feature.

You can make your own halftone patterns, and use them to make brushes, in Photoshop.

Grab the image/texture/value you want - if you want just a grid of dots, just fill the image witgh a value of grey.

Go to Image/Greyscale, convert to greyscale.

Go to Image/Bitmap, and for options, choose "halftone screen". I usually double the output dps to twice the image resolution. Click "Okay".

Now you'll get the Halftone Screen dialog. This is where you create the screen. The default is 53, angle 45, diamond. I usually choose Round, angle 90, and use a low number for frequency. The lower the number here, the more spread out the dots will be.

You now have a halftone screen you can use to create a brush. You can scale the dots bigger or smaller, blur them, etc.

If you play with the dot shape and angle, you can get some cool patterns.

I'm aware that Imgur.com will stop allowing adult images since 15th of May. I'm taking actions to backup as much data as possible.
