Where can people as artist really start to get the money? im not talking about hundreds of dolars, i mean a place to start commissions and really get feedback?

is furry porn an alternative or is the only answer, like suicide

Its just one of many, many niches that can be used to make money. Furry is a degenerate fetish, and they'll pay for anything that legitimizes their desires. But you could also do some R34 with fetishistic twists like feet or ass smothering, femdom, or *ahem* smoli.
Porn always brings money because its so low brow, and pleasing on the primitive level, its a decent place to start making money as long as you have fine drawing skill and iron willpower.
>>
>>2969971
bondage and transformation fetish are just as popular as furry porn
>>
>>2969971
the number 1 thing I get asked to draw all the time
is pencil portraits of people's kids and dogs.
get good at that and you will make some money.
>>
>>2969992
The ASFR Crowd is still an untapped market to be honest.
>>
>>2970561
only reason they ask for pencil drawing is cause they're cheap

don't listen to that dingus, you won't pay off your rent that way
>>
>>2970561
This reminds me of how Dave Rapoza was told there was no money in art by a guy who only did Calendars for a living.
>>
>>2970804
But then the truth ended up being that it was untrue and you can make money in calendars right?
>>

>bondage
Really?
I practise it in real life, and did not known that it really popular in art.
>>
>>2969992
So i can confirm, furries will pay for basically anything (I got a decent amount of commissions on FA back in high school when my art was still shit-tier. Now it's at least medium-tier (Not quite beginner but not near an accomplished artist) and i kinda wanna get into them again because i can pump out more work more easily now.

But is FA still a good place for that?
>>
>>2969971
I have yet to draw porn of any kind for commissions, and I'm making decent bank.

Learn to do comics, it pays about $100 a page, and you're guaranteed a healthy number of them. Also, Animal paintings and movie posters, $200 a pop to personal clients.

I swear /ic/ gets "how do i make monies drawing furry pron" at least 3 times a week, but does anyone actually go out and do it or do you give up halfway through? Where are all the success stories of "/ic/ told me how to exploit furfags and now im a millionaire"?
>>
>>2969971
I just want to say I love this picture.

It is fundamentally stunning that so many people on /ic/ can't think of careers in art beyond furry porn. What the fuck kind of bubble have you been living in?

Yes - all editorial illustrators, advertising illustrators, fine artists, apparel designers, sci-fi/fantasy/concept artists, sculptors, 3D modelers, film editors, graphic designers, UI artists, calligraphy/typography artists, poster artists, book illustrators, product/label designers, photographers, animators, printmakers, - they make a living by drawing furry porn.
>>
>>2971335
The ones who made it aren't here obviously.
>>
>>2971335
since the time internet became widespread in early 2000's companies had the luxury of cherry-picking the best of the best from any country, if they could speak their language.
the ones left over got paid less than the minimum wage
>>
>>2971335
>graphic designers
all graphic design is done by marketing and advertising employees now, it's part of their curriculum.
we used to have web designers as a separate specialty, but now their job is done by web developers, since newer software made it so easy to create websites.
>>
>>2971378
>all graphic design is done by marketing and advertising employees now

Not quite true. Marketing and advertising sects of large companies outsource their design work to graphic design agencies. Regardless of whether or not your work comes from being in-house at a company or through an agency, graphic design one of many alternatives to drawing furry porn for a living.

>>2971370
Sure, competition has increased due to globalization. Not arguing that. I'm just pointing out OP and many others here honestly believe that their only options are furry porn or (apparently) suicide.
>>
>>2971185
>Where are all the success stories of "/ic/ told me how to exploit furfags and now im a millionaire"?
They made it, so they have no reason to post on /ic/ anymore.
>>
>>2971335

Worst is that people here just don't want to do what they enjoy doing and become good at it. Sure, some things are very niche and might be suitable for masa appeal, but really, best is to do from the start what you always wanted to AND then branch.

Btw this is best method of learning too - instead of going for vague classical education and "fundamentals", you learn as you go by doing what you need. You don't need to learn anatomy if you want to create interesting and moody environments and if you want to make interesting assets for games, you learn 3D, material rendering, Photoshop and do still lives.

I wish I knew this sooner, I was a young lad and fell for the memes here and now I'm basically starting from the ground up

Why aren't you helping destroy Germany?
>>

Same but I'm glad I realized it eventually
>>
>>2971480
Same here anon, but I'm happier now and feel like I'm improving faster, at least at what I want to do.
I won't get any ic fame for having anatomically perfect figures, but I'd rather enjoy painting my trees.
