tried this in the beginner thread and found it quite useful, found bones and muscles i wasnt aware of before. try it!
heres the photo i used

spooky
>>2969261
That's actually called ecorche. Super important practice for learning anatomy so keep it up. Using sketches from old masters along with photos is something I'd also suggest.
>>2969261
Excellent work!
>>2969298
ecorche, neat.
one cool thing i found was that under the arms the back muscles and the muscles on the ribs seem to interlace. another thing i didnt know was that the femur goes sort of diagonally across the thigh
Is there a name for the reverse?
I've been trying the opposite in which I construct the skull and start adding muscle.
>>2969317
The back muscles does not. They go completely over the serratus anterior. The serratus does interlace with the external oblique
What about stylized art? How is the pelvis done here?
>>2969398
ah, ok. i dont know the name of any of them, they just seemed to go the back
someone in another thread linked to this site:
https://human.biodigital.com/index.html
learning a lot!
>>2969424
Go to a library and rent an anatomy book. You don't need to learn anything from it, just take pictures from the muscles and then search about the general area on google to get the names. This way you get the correct specifics (how many ribs are connected to the sternum for example) from the book pictures while learning how they look from pics on google. When I studied anatomy, specially dental anatomy, I got fucked over by how much wrong the pictures on the internet were (people doing artifical stuff and drawings dont care about doing it perfectly)
>>2969398
Man those old models are creepier than anything.
>>2969444
that site i linked, biodigital, has the names of the stuff at least but it isnt as good as real illustrations.
here for example veins are going through the muscles. dont know what to make of that. ill check the library when it opens.
and holy shit, there are four layers of muscles on the abdomen. didnt know about that
>>2969453
hehe, looks like its been flayed
any webms of artists starting from complete scratch with the bones and building everything on top of that to a finished work?
>>2969481
Which is what ecorchée means, IIRC
>>2969398
>>2970050
man, that body could melt the straightest steel beams
>>2970153
or maybe they werent so straight to begin with
>>2970159
nice one, gave me a good laugh.
cool if I use the image to post on my IG? so I can promote a show.
>>2970214
what image? the first ones? if so, sure, go ahead
yeah the one with the skeleton! thank you. If you live in bk hit up the show at the footlight on the 19
>>2969412
The pelvis is in another dimensions, the torso and legs are then pulled out from the rift in directions that make the end result appealing.
gave this a shot a few days ago, it was a neat experience. i learned the ribcage is fucking difficult
bumping with a ref, will try to do one later.
>>2973113
not bad. would def be easier if you had a pad and did it digital though.
>>2973113
Just a question out of topic. I've seen some people use these paper with dots. What's the advantage of if? And where do you get one?
quick anatomy question. is the cross section of a thigh suppose to be more or less circular or is it more oval?
>>2974347
So what's the point of the dots to begin with?
>>2974409
Neither. And it depends on the height at which you make the incision.

>>2973946
Wow I have no idea what I'm doing
>>2974912
Those are some thicc bones.
on this pic, arent the knees abnormaly low?
>>2974912
remember, the ass is muscles not bone
>>2973113
>No real understanding of perspective
>Is ripping the bones from people
LOL
You do know the reason you have to think about how the bones is look is because you don't know basic perspective?
You're doing the things the hard, stupid way for fucking idiots and chumps because you don't want to take the time to figure out how boxes move in perspective.
I can't help but laugh at you.
>>2974956
its contraposto, they're not low.
>>2975290
There's no way this is a legitimate error.
This is some guro decapitation shit.
>>2975293
that's where you're wrong kiddo
>>2975290
took me about a week but i get it now
>>2975316
Illuminate me.
>>2975312
>Mosaic where the neck should go
I think I've got a good chance to be correct.
>>2975319
>>2975328
>>2974567
Equal spacing maybe?
>>2975328
It seems that it's drawn to give the appearance of broken limbs, etc.
It's an obvious "error".
No Japanese artist that's at that level would be unaware of their composition.
>>2975372
oh yea, it's 100% fuck
>>2975372
Read some VNs sometimes. The CGs are pretty and sparkly like that but there's usually tons of errors on everything. Things as retarded as that get through all the time, especially on cheaper VNs.
>>2975290
Truly the new Picasso.
>>2975235
thank you for your critique. i will work on my perspective.
>>2975235
dunning kruger mother fucker
no one who's actually good at art disparages a beginner like that
post your work you internet man, or at least do this exercise
