So, does anybody else have problems using he Loomis method to build up the head? I'm having trouble slicing up the sides of the ball.

he read the rest of his books and watch the proko tutorials. and remember all of it is an estimate and not a rule. if you just read the damn books and do the exercises you'll get better.
I think Loomis just eyeballs his stuff until it feels right. He even says to do it that way for foreshortening.
