It's a bit of a strange question since painting encompasses drawing but bear with me. When I say painting i'm referring to color and values. And when I say drawing i'm referring to anatomy, construction, perspective, composition.

Now if you agree that drawing is more difficult than painting how much more difficult would you say it is? Like less say the total difficulty of drawing was 100 what number would you give painting.

drawing is the base of painting, like the skeleton under the skin, we shouldn't compare that.
But to answer to your question I have more difficulties to learn colors than drawing, since I am drawing since I am very young and I wasn't interested in buying some paint at this moment

All mediums have a learning curve.

no shit.

So you use "drawing" and "painting" as mere labels for certain fundamentals?
'cause if you're gonna make an anatomy picture, you better know anatomy and it makes no difference whether you render that gluteus with line or with chunks of value.

If your drawing you can still erase your mistakes.
With paint you cant.
But it more so depends on what youre trying to draw/paint.

Painting incorporates everything drawing covers.

And then it adds colour. And if you think colour is easy then get a grip.

As someone who spends 80% of their time painting, drawing is harder and more important than painting.

You have to have a good drawing to have a good painting.

Painting can look nice but if the drawing is shit then it's just another worthless 'polished turd'. A good drawing can stand on it own where painting cannot.

I'd say it's harder/takes longer to 'master' painting than it does drawing. But as far as just getting 'good' in the first place, drawing is harder initially.

Drawing and painting fundies can easily be considered totally separate things. But just cause they're separate doesn't mean you wouldn't naturally use a combination of both to make an anatomy drawing.

As soon as you start dealing with light/shadow/value/rendering you start branching into 'painting' fundies.
