I like the idea with all the different shards, but you compositions are lacking. The first one would actually be really good without the tree and the thingy behind it. The second is just all over the place.

Blend the pieces better, specially the ground which is a shitty uniform muddy mess, it seems you did the sky first and then got bored once you realized you still had to do the ground.
The tree stands out like a sore thumb in a bad way, it doesn't really fit the style, try making it with many tiny pieces instead of a whole one.

I don't like the man behind it, feels like you're trying to hard to give a meaning to the paiting.
