That's why it's an exercise, anon. When you do figure drawing you start with quick drawings (20 sec, 30 sec, 40 sec moving into 1 minute, 5 minute, 30 minute etc depending on who's controlling the time, usually the model and teacher).

If you can't get something down in 40 seconds you're spending too much time being critical and looking for details instead of getting down the basic shapes. That's the purpose of this kind of exercise.

i think that's probably is a confidence thing like the other anon said, if every line you draw is correct then 40 seconds is enough to do a face, easy. so if you just like assume every line is correct then you'll have a face, it might end up being a mess, but it only took 40 seconds, so who cares, lol.
