Graffiti never had any direction. It's pure vandalism, plain and simple. If you want to make art, put it on a canvas. If you want to get other people to look at it, put it online, or in a gallery. You don't have the right to deface someone else's property.

Well, artistic graffiti does have a point to it and depending on the location chosen, it can send a big message (For example, Banksy and what he put at Disneyworld/land whichever it was He's the only one I know an actual name of so he's the only example I have).

but for the most part it's just vandalism that's a pain for whomever has to eventually remove it, or an eyesore that makes the streets look dirtier.

If it's actual art it's forgivable but still messed up.
